The cap was attached if that's what you mean bud. Crank at the least needs polished. But when the cap was removed there was no bearing at all left, must have dissintergrated totally and the con rod shows signs of getting hotter than the other 3. Happend to cylinder 3.

Could have either been oil starvation or dirt in the oil has managed to catch a layer of the bearing, once the bearings lost its cover theres no going back the damage will get worse and worse what do uou reckon youll do pull the whole engine?

Eventually I will get a new engine in it. At the moment it's just strip off the mods and sell them. That's the only plans set in stone at the moment!

As I have been told that oil starvation could have caused it but if it had been starved of oil, would the others not have went as well? As there was plenty of oil in the system, it was full and still clean oil, well a little dark but definately clean if you get what I mean.

you can get situation where the oil feed pipes down the center of the con rods can get blocked up, which will obvioualy cause starvation in the big and or little ends, so everythings going to grt hot and bearings will start going :/ kinda looks like whats happened here.

Not sure tbh mate although wouldn't have thought so, it's as sealed as the breathers are if you get me.

Well the last update of this really ever.

Car destroyed a bearing in the block so it's being broken for parts unfortunately.

Although on the bright side, I won the car of the month in the readers cars feature, so will be in performance ford's may issue, out early April they said

Nice farewell to the motor I feel
