Does anyone know or asked if it's possible to put the AP 4 pot break kit on both front and back?

you'll need some custom work to fit AP's to the back i think.

cant use the front disc kit directly onto the back and as far as im aware they dont make a kit for the back.

on the back you need that metal disc casing thing dont you at the back of the disc?? i supose if you can get one of those big enough to support the disc you might be able to do it and then get the caliper on.

not too sure though. gona be like £3,000 in brakes then fitting and custom work ... alot of mooooonnneeeyyyssss lol

Weren't you planning on getting another front axle and suspension to go on the rear of your car? It'll fit then

yeah im going to be cutting bits away and sticking them on the back or attempting to copy cat the front axle.

don't ask me how yet im still drawing stuff up, and gathering intel from other mods.

i can do it but i might not have a handbrake to use...so it's a bit touch and go i need to look at rear wheel drive cars and see.

I had drums and callipers on my GT-four i always assumed the drum was for the Handbrake and the calliper and pads was for braking?

I think you will have too much braking on the back which is likely to cause all kinds of balance issues. You would presumably need some kind of brake servo's that are set up by a professional so you get the right levels of braking (front more than back).

It would look cool, the rear breaks only do a slight bit of breaking. You could get round the balance issues by fitting a break bias valve but not ideal.

Could you not just use a kit like this one?
http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/showdetails.jsp?productID=405

15mm extra disc diamenter so will fill the wheels a bit better

Any upgrade is good but im concerned that the power im looking at the brakes won't be good enough, I'll get my front wheels locking up as my rear brakes are too weak on a AWD conversion.

I had brembos on my GT-four but i never fit them so i have no idea how they did it those were 330mm.

Have no idea how awd would affect it. I can guess you get aditional breaking as the rears will have some engine breaking.

Wonder what setup the cosworth converions are using

6 pot is too big for the wheel base, i'd need to strip the axle and put an RS one on.

4 pot brakes is enough i had 330mm brembos on my celica mental stopping power.
it's definitely possible but i dont think I'll find the answer till i convert my car see what rear axle looks like.

Sadev are digging me a quote to build my conversion they did the gearbox in fiesta mrk 7 WRC

Would the 4 pot brembos from the RS be easier to fit to the rear?

not sure why they are cheaper, a saving of about £400

with AP though like most things you pay for the name, brand, reputation etc etc as well

not sure how the two products compare in performance though, might be worth asking puma build.

Yeah i just see flicking through but 2.3 running at 188BHP?

surely that can't be right

Think im definitely committing to the Cosworth engine in getting hopefully i might have it in next year before FITP.

still will be FWD though but RS power without a turbo

No need for AP brakes at the rear. Sure I thought about it too and it would look amazing
BUT my AP's stopped me DEAD anytime, anywhere!
I agree with Micky, I just got the rear upgrade fitted to fill the alloys better and improve rear braking

I love your ideas on making this Moner but if I were you just part ex for a Mk2 FRS and do most of your ideas to that!
530bhp and 480Ib-ft of Torque easy!

Focus RS (£28k-35k)

My project

RS power 300BHP

My AWD power 470BHP

I'm selling my Zetec for £3500 to fund the Cosworth engine deposit this year

turbo and supercharging it, it's mental!

Im not going down pumaspeed route, the engine im getting from cosworth is 2.3 duratec 280BHP non turbo/supercharged when they mount it and re-map it (i got milltek system)

should be 303BHP roughly RS league without a turbo :P

can't wait to supercharge the engine just want to win the lottery and do it now lol
