Oh hai guys!
I currently have a MK5 GTI for sale and i am looking towards an ST for my next car. Preferably in white!

I was wondering, if a car doesnt have the stripes, how much does it cost to have them put on? Im mainly after the side stripes for the bottom of the doors and not the ones over the bonnet roof.

I think im a bit too old for the stripes over the top of teh car! (im 29!) if you know what i mean.

Look forward to your responses!

Ben

(my 1st 2 cars were fiestas!)

Welcoemn to the site.

I wouldn't say you're too old for the stripes by any means, I'm 31 and don't think I'm too old for them!! They make the car IMO.

They will do it Steve. They are just very busy so you have to bug them.

Adding the stripes wouldn't cost too much. £100 for the side ones i would guess and £200+ for the OTT ones. That would include fitting too. Give them a call... i'm going for an educated guestimate on those prices.

cool so its easily done adding the stripes. I like the side looks
Ive my eye on a black ST, 20k mileage, 08 plate - what would you pay for this?

Seen a few white uns on ebay/pistonheads which i prefer

This is what i have now. I took out a small loan and left me a bit too short on my monthly outgoings! a bit too out of my range!

Welcome
DMB Side stripes are about £20-25 to buy.
Easy enough to fit yourself as long as you take your time and its not windy.
Best to have a friend though to put the stripe down evenly.

I like the Golf

Welcome mate! I have an offer you, would you like to trade my 08 Fiesta Style for your Golf GTI? I mean just look at her! It is no ST but your coolness will make up for that , it is a little slower than your Golf but hey a smaller car means a larger .... yeah, maybe not just incase infants can see this!

The golf is loads nicer than the ST! I can imagine the fiesta feeling really rough and uncomfortable in comparison!

try going from 500bhp to a 150bhp car

only thing got me attached to my ST is the project side of things and it's looks.

Welcome to the site. The gti is a lovley car! My neighbour has one and it's built very well.

The st will feel very different. And when you test drive don't worry about any rattles and squeaks. They all do that

A standard ST is very refined, even suspension is firm but not harsh, from new mine was quiet and so easy to drive with the low down torque, it's only when you start modding the noise levels show up.
