you need to take off the upper nut and do the same on the otherside lots of wd40 will be needed! It was for mine

I got mine off with a spanner mate. You must have one laying about somewhere? Its honestly not that hard at all. Even a baby could do it(well probably)

I think I understand your problem. You can't get the bloody nut out cos theres no room cos of that black plastic/trim? I guess you will either need to remove it or bend it a bit to get the nut out. BTW I've ordered one strut brace from OMP so I hope you'll get this sorted and report back ;-).

cheers mate

well what i did was use a spanner to remove the back two as to remove the plastic bit is to hard then put in place the OMP strut and tighten the back bolts with the spanner and then i tighten the front ones with a a torque wrench at 45nm and then adjust the adjustable nut out all done

It's a slow annoying job with a spanner as the plastic ducting blocks your tools
Unless you have snap-on goodies

Use lots of WD40 I agree with Dan!

Great mod! Keep it up!

There's going to be no miracle cure for this, you're just going to have to persevere with the right tools.

I thought for a second you meant the rusty nut in the hole for the damper. That is what had rusted on me and I had much trouble getting it out.

you dont need to undo all 3 in most cases with a strut brace, mine is only 2 bolts, the plastic does bend enough to get the nut off, i have lowered 4 fiesta ST's now and fitted a strut brace on 2 cars and never removed that plastic

hi guys. tomorrow I'll try to fit my OMP strut and I need some info.

when I "release" the 2 bolts on both sides to slide the strut in, I'm not messing with the shock absorbers right?

how hard do I need to tighten the bold that is separating the left and right side of the strut brace?

cheers.

nothing will move by undoing those two nuts on the shocks aslong as the car is on the flat!

i did that nut up as tight as i could, i believe it is meant to be torqued up but i dont know what to!
