Hi guys my ST is coming up to 31,000 miles and due a major service. I have spoke to ford dunton and they quoted me £279! which is rather steep! Alot more then I was expecting to say the least! I was wondering if theres any other places that are reccomended that are cheaper?

you will need,
oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter, spark plugs,
maybe brake fluid change and pas fluid change
with the fez's 3rd year service we bought the parts for all of about £50 and then my mate who works at citreon did the service and stamped the book
ford wanted £250 for the service and MOT and that was with a big discount!

my mate who works at Ford in Rayleigh does all my services for me and is extremely cheap as he gets discount on parts and does the labour himself, my last service cost me less than £100 and he does anything else little/major you might want him to do, let me know if you want his details

I just do mine myself, never been that bothered about stamps in the book (when I bought it, it only had a few from indys).
Takes an hour or two at most and saves you more in the long run than the amount your car depreciates from not having the stamp imo.
As for spark plugs, I tend to do mine fairly often, about every 8-10k or so. Always notice a difference after changing them.

I have the service kit sitting under the stairs. Someone said he would do it for me but its just finding the time as hes quite busy atm! Anyone got any tips of where the filters can be found and how to change oil and stuff???
That would be a massive help as I couldnt find anything on youtube!

Oil filter - At back of engine, just above o/s driveshaft, get this from underneath. Air filter - Remove airbox housing. Various torx screws. Undo these and part the airbox. Change filter. Fuel filter - Not sure on this one. Will update when I have a look.
Drain the oil, sump plug should be a 13mm. Change oil filter. Put car on level surface and top up with 4 litres of 5W30 oil. Start engine and run for 30 seconds. Turn engine off, and check level. If low, top up by 100ml and then recheck.....Repeat this.

Im sure the fuel filter is under the car in front of the tank, and it uses the quick release fittings.

Boys up top are correct.
Little screw that holds the filter to the body. Undo this. Then on either side of the filter there are two connector. On each connector, there are two push in fitting. Push these in and pull the connector from the filter. Replace with new filter ensuring arrow pointing in direction of flow. ,

k3yy, you only need 4.3 litres hun. Put 4 litres in to start, run the engine and then check the level. Top up slowly until level is on maximum.
P.s. Get some Wynns or Forte engine flush. Add to oil before you drain and run it for 10 minutes.
