Ok, so its that time (maybe a bit overdue if im honest). I need to get my car serviced, so far its always been done by Ford. I know it looks good when it comes to selling that its always been done by a Ford main dealer but is it worth the money? Do i pay the money and get Ford to do it, do i go to another big name garage like Kwik Fit, Formula 1's etc or do i just get it done at a local, independant garage? Any help would be much appreciated :-)

Just do it all yourself if you have the ability, the amount you'll gain when you come to sell will be much less than the amount you'll save by doing it yourself.

like i said in another previous thread, my mate works as a Ford Engineer for Rayleigh Ford in Essex, he does all my servicing for cheap as he gets discount on parts and charges hardly anything for labour. He also stamps it with a Ford badge as normal and can do any extras you need for cheap! Like he has done my pads/discs/throttle body/head lights etc, really top guy!
also does you an invoice and can check for any other problems you might have!
drop me a message if you are interested, depends on where you live! i'd assume bishops stortford if you've put essex/herts

Cheers guys, got the message loud and clear to stay away from kwik fit. Im in Harlow, Essex. I dont mind paying the money as long as they do the job they are supposed to, hear so many bad stories where they say they've done this and that but dont really do it. Bradders im def interested, in a rush at the moment but will send you a message when i get a chance. Cheers guys :-)

definitely dont go to kwik fit, they failed my brothers car on the mot for having a frozen washer bottle in the middle of winter
I'm an MoT tester and I failed many cars because the washers wern't working in winter. They must work to get a certificate, so if the washers are frozen, it isn't my fault and they fail. If the customer was/is waiting, I will allow them to put hot water in the bottle to defrost it, but I won't do it myself as we are not allowed.

Stason - If it fails, it fails is correct. When we test, we may be working at our garage, but at that time, we represent VOSA, so their rules must be obliged.
Gary - They should always give the presenter of the vehicle a chance to defrost them, its a 5 minute job. Kwik fit are complete imbeciles and how VOSA allow such monkey to test is beyond me lol.

We can all hope so mate.
One of our customers took the oppertunity to go there for their £25 MoT. It failed on two windscreen wipers (£16 EACH) an play in the rack.
He brought it to us, we checked it over, we didn't fail it.
They get their money back somewhere.
