Replacing an entire ST into my fiesta....

i have a 52 Plate fiesta and its getting old now.... 106K and wont pass its MOT next year on emissions, now im thinking just before anyone says anything about get rid etc etc....

Can i replace everything from a written off ST into my fiesta... wiring loom's etc etc.... im thinking of getting a written off Facelift ST and stripping both car's down and placing everything into my fiesta... Dash, entire wiring looms, Everything apart from (obviously) the fuel tank (but il swap Pumps with the ST

The car it self is in fairly neat condition body work wise, Two front wings need changing (just need a second Front wing to send them to get sprayed) and a god awful dent below the rear light that a KA put in... (max price 450 according to a sprayer i went too)

Can this be done by someone who has not much in the way of mechaincal knowledge but can figure problems out.... obviously there should be no problems as there both the same chassis's, but this will involve converting my car too ABS, Should easily be done though as everything will just come from the ST.

il be 20 by the time this gets insured and done, but the outside will remain very much the same, not changing the bumpers yet or anything cosmetically different... (it has ST rear discs and the spiler already) but it blends in very well so will aim for the sleeper look to surprise people

what do you all think?

Why? Surely you'd be able to sell your car and buy a for that kind of money??? They're not really that expensive to buy now. Plus your insurance will go ape sh*t when you start decalring all those mods and charge you stupid amounts. I'm sure it'll cost less to just buy a

the reason being is i doubt il be able to sell my fez for much more then 1k... many people/garages probably wont consider a PX on a car with 106k+ miles on it and still give me alot back... plus to pass the next emmisions test its going to need a new CAT and that does not include anything that may appear between tests... im perfectly happy to keep the car or sell it on but if theres no point on selling it for such a low price... Written Off ST's are currently in the range of 2k too 4k dependent on age...

i hope a company will agree that i should pay the same price as an ST but wont cover it up to the cost of an ST.. maybe just class as a standered Zetec in the event of an accident....

I promise you it would be cheaper to buy one than source all those parts, pay to have them fitted and then pay exuberant insurance fees because of the lengthy list of mods...

If i'm reading this correctly Matt, that would be treading on verrry thin ice.

A 'sleeper' is all good if it's an old banger, and looks an old banger; but if you start moding your Fez, the further you go the more you will want it to LOOK the nuts, urgo, no more sleeper... a Chav.

The choice is all yours and we will be here for any help that you need in a project.

I dont want to say this put ST's/ZS's are getting cheap now. Surely buying one will be worth more than the hassle of changing a standard zetec into one?

Think at the same time of what the car will be worth afterwards, a zetec thats been converted to an ST doesnt sell at the same price as a real ST.

Just saying!
