The helpful bit will be having the ST to copy. Try not to rip the ST to shreds then reassemble but instead do it in little stages so you can remember each bit. That would be my approach anyway.

Where abouts are you going to be doing this?

Still considering it... i would replace bit by bit and with some common sense it can/could be done... starting with the entire Interior getting swapped... think that would be the worst bit of the entire swap...

The idea is replacing it in each half and not just chuck everything out... the entire dash should be obvious enough to change its just working out wiring loom routes which would be a massive pain... hopefully it wont need chopping and re-soldering....

il be doing it next year (if i am) and going to see if i can find an area i can rent/use thats safe and secure (workshop?) and get both cars in there side by side and be taking lots and lots of pictures on a digi cam so i can have infomation to constantly feedback too incase anything goes wrong... if im getting an ST i want a decent low mileage one... again if i do the swap il use a low mileage example... its choices though...

if you're going to pay 3k for an st plus the 1k for your car plus the cost of renting a garage you may as well just save a bit longer and buy a better ST

that said it would be a great learning curve and a lot of fun to do what you suggested...but economically buying an ST makes far more sense imo
