Here it is, the date you've all been waiting for.

******The FordFiestaST.co.uk Summer Event*******

We shall be holding this on the on the weekend of Saturday 22nd July 2006.

You may have noticed that this is the same weekend as the Rally Show at Castle Coombe. Yes your correct

The reason we are starting the Event here is due to the location of the Rally Show.

Type this postal code into www.streetmap.co.uk SN14 7EY

This is the website if you need any more information about the circuit: http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/findus.htm

Well now you know where we shall be meeting, you may we wandering where we shall be going.

The answer is Cornwall. The final destination is unknown due to a few options to be considered for example... do we want a quiet place (Bude) or a lively place (Newquay) to stop.

Cornwall has much to offer with its beautiful scenery and nice sandy beaches. Also it will hopefully be hot during the date set.

We plan to meet up at the Rally day and spend the day there and then on the evening get something to eat at a pub or resteraunt and then head down to the campsite in convoy.

Then we shall stop for 3/4 nights in Cornwall visiting locations and relaxing and also having a good time.

We had a fantastic time last year and i cant wait for the summer to come around to go to this one.

More details will be posted shortly as i've done quite a bit of research into this event and the team will be hard at work helping sort everything out so its all done and dusted for when we go, just like last year

If you wish to view last years event then its in the meets and events thread and you will find a few threads about it!!!

The next question is. Who's coming and do you have any questions, worries or anything you would like to ask.

Please add your names and comments to this thread!!!

Kind Regards,

Scotty (Forum Administrator)
& The Brilliant Team

Right you are

It will be a great time, if theres any places you would like to go, or things you would like to do...

for example... go clubbing one night... or go out and have a pool night together... have a nice cliff walk...

Anything atall would be interesting. I have done some research but its everyones event

Right, surprise surprise, I will be coming as well.

It will be all good, everyone who came last time had a really good time, and I know we will all work hard to make sure that this event is even better.

Like Scott said, it doesn't matter if you don't have an , there were plenty of people with other cars there last year, and I know there will be this. Its simply a great way for as many members of the site as possible to meet up, put faces to names, and generally have an excellent time enjoying themselves.

So anyone whos a little undecided as to whether to go or not, simply think of it as a chance to do something different and go for it!! Thats what I did last year and ended up having a fantastic time.

Well I will be at Rally Day of course so why not head down to Cornwall and have more good time while I'm at it... Count me in... Though I have to say I shall not be camping I'm afraid but surely there are some nice hotels or B&B's around...

I look forward to seeing other areas of UK instead of always the same ol'London. I'll feel less like a dorky tourist.

Anything that involves waking me up, think again as the person who did it wouldn't end up looking very pretty by the end of it. I like my sleep!

Some really great feedback already. Come along, give it a try, what have you got to lose? If you dont like it then you can always come up with a good excuse like ur grannies been abducted by aliens or your house was struck by a freak bolt of lightening and destroyed.

Join in the fun

I'm up for this, provided I can get time off work. July is a very busy time of year, so will have to see.

Hmm... we will see.

Back onto the point.

Chris I can understand what your saying and its a good point. It seems silly to not use Rally Show as a starting point this is why i have put up 6 months notice for everyone to try and get a few days off.

More information will follow up

Hopefully with the long notice of the date it should hopefully make it a little easier for people to get time off. I've already put my stickers on the calendar at work for that week before anyone else nabs those days.

Having the meet along with Rally Day should make things great. It will be a good day out, but then it will also give us all the chance to convoy down together to get the rest of the weekend started.

I might be able to come depends on whether I can get time off work. Might come down for the ride but might have to leave earlier than 3/4 nights. I will see what I can do...sounds awesome after reading the comments from last year!

Ok definately won't be able to get that week off, even my boss has had to cancel his holiday, as we will have a WinnieThePooh load of work dropped on us for the last 2 weeks of July. I'll be there for the rally show, so will see you all then.

It is unfortunate that you're unable to stop for more than the one day, at least we will see you on the Saturday though, and also at the M-sport event which will be a BIG effort for you to come up for.

Would love to join you all as i break up from work on the 21st. Only trouble is i'll have my Mrs and my 7 year old daughter with me.But my daughter is now a definate lover. Do you think it's a good idea?: We would only be stopping for a couple of nights in a hotel or B&B. The convoy down would be awsome i think, and as you all say, would be nice to put faces to names.

I've been having a look tonight to find out a bit of information about the Rally Day we shall be going to on the Saturday of the weekend of our event.

Things get going at 9am that day, but I'm sure that people won't miss out by getting there a bit later in the day than that. They are going to publish the event schedule in full in June, so should find out a bit more information a little nearer the time.

Theres plenty to see there, imo worth it just to see the RS200's lol

Nick02 from this site went there last year, and theres a thread with some of his pics here:

Nick's Rally Day 2005 Pics

As for the costs to get in it is very reasonable, its £10 for advance tickets or £12 if you pay on the day.

The official thread for the event is here, and does give lots of information:

www.rallyday.com

I'm sure you'll all agree it is an event worth attending!!

Thanks
ChrisC

Going to Spa on May 30th and 31st.

Day one is booked for my ST while day 2 i'm only booked as a passenger

Hopefully my passport WILL be sorted by then but so far I still don't have it... It's taking bloody ages...

In fact I've learned that I'm allowed to travel thoughout EU with an expired passport (up to 3 months) but I just can't take an airplane - but since I'm driving to Spa that's good enough...

Just something I thought I should maybe remind people of. Obviously I'm not sure what stage everyone who is coming to the event is at with regard to getting accomadation sorted for that period (from Saturday July the 22nd for 3/4 nights - ultimately its up to individuals how long they would like to/can stay for).

We shall be staying in the area around Newquay, and with it being a holiday region in the middle of summer the area will get busy, so just thought I should remind everyone not to wait till the last minute before getting a hotel booked. I wouldn't want to see anyone having problems with this.

Thanks
Chris

Is everyone getting tickets for the rally show when they get there or are you pre booking on line, if on line what tickets are you all getting? am thinking of meeting you all there now instead of Cornwall . On that note, if we all meet up at Castle Coombe, how will we know who's who, i.e. how will i know where you are Chris,Scotty, etc?

Yes, it is the spectator tickets that we shall need to book for the Rally day. As for meeting up there, I think the easiest way would be if I PM'd you my mobile number before you go so that you can let us know where abouts you are when you arrive, and me and Scott will come and find you.

Ill be at the Rally show for definite, its was great the last time I went and I regret not going to last years - Richard Burns was there and there was a 'history of his car career' thing there - Nick said it was great.

Re cornwall, will depend on time off work - work is super busy in July / August cos all the f'ing kids are off school, so they're causing trouble on my estates! Prob will be able to get a few days off - so at minimum will come to conrnwall for 2 nights. tbc.

as per gareth, the allure of travelodge / premierlodge is far too big for me to give it up for the campsite! Will be sure to arrive bright and early at the campsite to wake all you freezing cold buggers up tho! - remember when I arrived last year - to nicky in just a football shirt and knicker lol

aaaannnnnnyway..

Sheridan'll be comin' to hopefully.

Look forward 2 it.

Yayyyy, I'm not going to be the oldest one this time
But funny how the oldest people on this forum have same colour .

As Chris said last year's show was superb. Even when the rain started pouring down the cars were putting on a great show with a very slippery track. As for night arrangements I'll be going for the "Travelodge" thingy too.

ST_One, You can pre-book the tickets if you fancy... I think i'm going to do this in the next few days just to get everything sorted out but you can buy them on the gate if need-be.

With regards to your question we can all meet up at a location near the track that everyone can ge to like a motorway services or easy spot and then all go to the track together. If people do want to do this then i'd be more than happy to meet before we go to the track. (Comments Needed On This)

Excellent Stuart, then all the campers are all sorted out so no worries about trying to find somewhere to stay.

I suggest the people who are "thinking" of stopping at the Travel Lodges phone up and enquire about rooms as believe me they get rammed very fast!!! As my sister found out last year stranded in Newquay with nowhere to sleep the night except her car.

Quote:

You said anyone, i'm 40

Don't worry about age ST_One everyone is welcome and you will be sure to be made welcome!!!

Quote:

Ok Chris, like I said don't leave it too late but keep me informed as it would be great to have you with us!!!

Ok Nick, keep me informed please m8tey.

Quote:

Excellent. looking foreward to meeting you all

I look forwards to meeting you also and it will be great to see new faces amongst old!!! Everyone is welcome and i'm sure will have a great time!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

With regards to times, locations and days, they will be sorted out shortly and all the information will be clearly added to the site and everyone will be able to have well documented plans and maps of everywhere we are going.

Also nearer the time as mentioned it would be nice for everyone to send me their mobile numbers and i shall send you mine (if you already have it then it's still the same). This will be useful when convoying to Newquay, which i'm sure everyone will enjoy!!!

Please bare with me on everything at the moment. My exams are at the end of this month (May) and i've got 2 coursework assignments due in this friday, along with a presentation to do infront of the course group. So very busy and hectic time for me but be assured the cogs are still turning and if you have any questions atall then PLEASE private message me my clicking on your "my home" link at the top of this page and addressing it to "FiestaRS".

If there is anyone else viewing this and sitting on the fence as regards coming along... come along for a day or two, jump the boat and do something out of the norm... I've said this for the Cotsworld Summer Event 2005 and also the M-Sport event now and everyone has loved them, so come along!!!

We're not a pub based, boyracer, local clicky group, alot of people who are attending have not been before so everyone will be in the same possition!!! Come along and meet us, then you will know people if you wanted to go to places such as the Monte Carlo Rally in January as people will be going to that!!! Other places also that might be attended!!!

Kind Regards,

Scotty

Sounding good Scotty, I think the idea of meeting before will be good, or maybe just meet in the carpark at the event? Castle combe is quite easy to find.

Personally I'm just thinking that that idea of meeting a little way away could be better than at the event itself. I've never been to Castle Combe before, but I'd imagine that the car park is going to be MASSIVE, and it'd be easier for everyone to find one another if we met up somewhere close on the way there.

I've been having a look at where we are going to in Cornwall, and there are many great things about it.

It is in a good beach location, there are literally LOADS of beaches around there which I'm sure everyone will enjoy, and lets just hope that the weathers kind to use that week!!

Certainly the campsite which we are staying at is just a few minutes from the beaches, and is in a nice spot. If anyone else is reading this who hasn't decided yet on coming and is up for camping then please PM me asap and I'll send you the details of the site, as whilst some of us are already booked hopefully there should still be some pitches still available but will need to be booked fairly quickly to ensure getting a space.

There is also in Cornwall lots of nice scenary which will be put to great effect once more in a photoshoot. Anyone who reads the threads from the last two events (Cotwolds and Cumbria) will see just how fantastic the pictures have come out and try to picture what it would be like with your car in similar pictures this time around. But as well as the scenary being great for a photoshoot, obviously the location enables other things, for example cliff top walks.

There are also many places of interest which we can go to during the day, and also have fun driving round to get to them as well lol:

www.stmichaelsmount.co.uk

St Michael's Mount, a rocky island with a castle on top.

www.cliffrailwaylynton.co.uk

Lynton Cliff Railway, have a look on there and it does look real unique.

Also we could go sea fishing in Padstow which I'm sure would be good.

At night there is good nightlife in Newquay, with loads of bars and clubs to visit:

Newquay Night Life

And like last year we could maybe have another BBQ, I know how much fun we all had with it last time!!!

I know that everyone who comes will have a great time, get to relax and enjoy themselves. Hopefully having read this you will see that there is loads that we can get up to down there and have a fantastic week, or few days depending on how long people can stay for.

Any comments would be welcome!!

Hey chris there does seem loads to do around Cornwall. Maybe it would be nice to have a BBQ on the beach or something. I know that on eht emost popular ones its ormally a no no, but i'm sure we could find one away from all main beaches where we could get away with it!
