Hi Guys,

Quick question really.

I'm currently rocking an iPhone which has all my music on it. Currently, I have the standard head unit, with a Parrot MKi9000 bluetooth unit - it has its own separate remote and no display so you plug the phone in and control it either on the phone itself or on the Parrot remote.

Ideally, I'd like a headunit with bluetooth to sort out calls with the option of plugging in the iPhone and controlling the iPhone through the headunit.

Obviously, I lose the display on the dashboard - but would like to keep the steering wheel controls, and ideally the skip tracks rocker to skip tracks on the iPhone.

Has anyone done anything similar? Are there any headunits that will imitate the function of the OEM unit (switching on at unlock and showing the time)?

Any ideas chaps? Is it possible to retrofit the entire system from a new Mondeo/Focus (Bluetooth, Voice Control with iPod / USB)?

Cheers,
Nick

With the Parrot unit the bluetooth streaming isn't a high quality - of course that could be the parrot unit itself so I normally plug the phone in to charge and play (along with SatNav).

I was looking at the XR611 rather than the XR811, same thing less one USB socket.

Cheers guys

when changing only my headunit the sound was much better than before
I now also have speakers too, but there was definite improvement with only a headunit (i had the crappy 4500 thing)

I dont see the point if you can use a cable- surely it will just drain all the battery life from your phone? why not use a memory stick or something instead?
