So, my Daughters Birthday is coming up soon, November 3rd,(13 years old). She is going on about wanting an Ipod Touch.

Are/is it any good? I have no idea what the latest Gadgets are?

thats as long as he doesnt give her the password for the apple ID, which he will need to do to even download free games.

I'm sure there is some way to block purchases without your permission though, just not sure how

They're essentially iPhones without the phone part so you can still choose apps from the massive store which is good. Also, if her friends have iPod touched/ new iPhones they can send each other free 'texts' to each other providing they are connected to wifi. If i was just buying an iPod I'd still get the classic type with the centre wheel because I still prefer to use that but there's no doubt that the Touch is a good piece if kit

Great bit of kit mate! I have an iPhone, but have an iTouch for teaching purposes, they are fantastic and in my opinion worth every penny!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

So how do you set up an account with no Credit/Debit card Adam? And would this mean she can still do the things that you have all mentioned with it?

Me and Julie havn't told her for defo that we're going to get her one yet, but she went out shopping with Julie yesterday and bought some sort of ipod touch cover thingy.

*shakes head* now she is going to expect it.

You can register the Itouch and then she will need your details again in order to be able to purchase any downloads.

Create an account with apple, think you can do it on their website, then when she downloads stuff on the Itouch she would have to login, if she tries to download something that costs she won't be able to
