second hand if you can, if not just go for the new one

4gb slim isnt enough by a long long shot!

I was looking at the 250GB slim and can get it with 2 controllers, crysis 2 and Forza 3 for 227 euros

I just dont think I can justify that much so I can play Forza

I want to use HDMI so i'm gonna have to find out which x360 has hdmi
and then look for 2nd hand maybe

Yh... the new slim on play.com are about £140 second hand, prob less on fleabay. I'm sure whn i looked a few months back i could get one with games for 170

im thinking if i just want it for forza and maybe other only xbox releases in the future, do i really need something bigger than the 4gb one?

yeah you do, as far as the guy told me in the shop xbox live takes up the majority of that.
It's nowhere near enough and you can't expand it either.... may as well not have a hard drive in it.

The elite here 2nd hand were £130 ish from game with 1 controller. The 250gb slim with gears of war 3 (another essential game for you to buy) was £180 new.. so for the extra £50 i thought may as well get the brand new and better one

Have a look at the new slim ones because they have built in wi-fi and you will get a years warranty where as second hand there's no guarantee it will work.

I have got an xbox elite but i had to pay £50 for the wireless adaptor.

Also i don't know if the new slim one is any quieter because i have to turn the volume up as it's loud sometimes

Mine is pretty quiet

4gb hard drive is completely pointless, get the 250 thats way you can save the games to the HD and play them off there, speeds up loading times, makes the console nearly silent as the disk doesn't need to spin etc

So my best dutch friend lives on the other side Of the street and has an xbox 360. I tell him i might be joining xbox ranks soon and we chat. Long story short, i have his xbox until he moves in january.

So here i am connecting the xbox via av (no hdmi port on my tv, only dvi) but the screen just flickers green. Cant find any help on the net so i thought i would connect up like my ps3 is, hdmi to dvi with av still connected for sound. That would be great but the xbox av cable has a lip that blocks the hdmi port when its connected. And when the hdmi is connected, the av doesnt fit

So now i have forza 4 and cant play it at all or play without sound

Oh dear. You need the red, blue, yellow cable combo mate. Got to buy one of those as the new xbox came with HDMI only.

How u finding the XB controller over the PS3 one mate??

i only played xbox once before, played halo with a friend in the uk
its not bad
im finding it a bit more comfortable than the ps3 one actually

I find the XB one is spot on, i really dont like the triggers on the ps3, especially on driving games

the xbox pads are a lot more comfortable to hold, ps3 one unfortunately has been designed for small hands, small hands like asian hands

i have smallish hands and still find the ps3 controller a bit small
the xbox fits perfectly in my hands

ive never used triggers for driving games, unless they leave u no choice

My mate at work used to buy all games for ps3 instead on xbox (he has both) but since he got online he has re-bought some of his game for xbox and sold the ps3 versions. xbox is so much better online he hardly uses the ps3 anymore

i dont like the idea of paying for playing online though, which i get for free on ps3
if i dit buy an xbox, is there a way to transfer everything I have like saved games etc from his xbox to mine?

Its very easy to do via the transfer data cable (ebay)

well the guy who borrowed me his xbox was over mine the other day and while chatting he asked...

"so do you buy games for the xbox or ps3 now?"
i looked at him with a quizzical look on my face and replied...

"i have to give it back to you in a week or 2 when you move so why would i buy games on the xbox"

to which he replied...

"aah i'll come and collect it some time"

looks like i'll be hanging onto the xbox longer than i thought
