I don't think a huge amount Banksy, it's more for the tune and throttle response. Where can I get that app Rybo?

banksy, i reckon around a extra 3mpg around town, and maybe 8mpg on a run.

anyway, i reset mine the other day and around twon i was averaging 29.6mpg. then i changed my power steering fluid and for the few minutes its takes to do the job, just idling my average mpg went down to 24.6.
so i've come to the conclusion not to believe what it says.

I don't think the K&N gives you that kind of MPG gains Alan. That seems very high indeed.

My K&N didn't change my MPG at all, it's still low cos I'm greedy with the noise of it and my Piper cat back. Alan is suggesting the K&N raises MPG by 8 on a drive which is crazy! So lets say on average someone is getting 34 MPG from a standard ST. They equip the K&N and they're now getting 42MPG... Hmmm really? I'm sure Ford would have done something if that was the case as this would have increased sales tenfold!

I think he means in context of how many miles you are getting
I would certainly say I drive my ST much more aggressively than I did in the first few months of owning it and so theoretically my mpg should have decreased but the only change I made between these 2 periods was the K&N and i easily went from high 20's to mid 30's
So it makes sense the k&n would give you easily 5mpg extra on an average trip in my opinion

I've had 49.7 mpg on the motorway before with my mountune cais which for those that don't know is basically a k&n in a box. It was 5th gear 50mph for an insane amount of miles though stupid m25 roadworks but if I stick around 70mph I can get it to around 33mpg which isn too bad

nope, not crazy at all, if you drive sensibly, and not like a bat out of hell, your mpg will deffo increase with a k&n fitted.
on a run driving on A and B roads and taking it at a steady pace, you will easily see upto an extra 8 miles per gallon.
though you will see it more doing it over a full tank of fuel, if you only say stick £20 or so in at a time, its not so noticable.

You have to remember the less restrictive you make your entry and exit into the engine the less the engine will work to produce power.

But at the same time under full throttle will work twice as fast and harder producing more power.

my average mpg is 39.00 better then my run around lol
