Just seen on BBC News , was turning the Welsh team into a half decent footballing side, thoughts are with his family at this time.

Reading the initial reports, its seems to me that suicide is the cause......

Home alone, no illness, no accident, found dead............ so sad!

I am gutted. He leaves behind a wife and two young children. So, so sad.

As a Sheffield United fan this is truely shocking, it's still hasn't sunk in yet.

Although he was only with us for a short time as a player and manager, you do strike up a connection and I would always look out for him doing well.

Yesterday's news was such a shock. We were outside the stadium (Swans V Villa) when it was announced over the tannoy. Everyone just sort of stopped and gasped. Only the day vefore he was on football focus, happy as Larry or so it seemed.

We gave him a one minute's silence inside and there were so many tears, SHay Given, Joe Allen, fans just to name a few.

Thoughts are with his family.

One minute he's on tv, the next he's gone. He was such a model pro, and one person (Wether you like football or not) that nobody had a bad word to say against.

So sad reading abt this and Alan Shearer in the paper today "why didnt my friend ring me if he was feeling low"

gives me goose bumps watching that, its horrendous!!

leeds are doing a tribute to him tonight at forest, after 11 mins into the game we are gonna sing "one gary speed" for 11 mins solid as he wore 11 for us when we won title back in 1992
