Tonight ITV1 HD 22:35 "The Fight Of Their Lives"

Documentary about the 1995 world title fight between Nigel Benn & Gerald McClellan, which ended in such tragic circumstances that it has never been broadcast since.

A MUST see programme, guys, gonna be very emotional

Don't know why it says it has never been broadcast before. I have watched a few program's about this, sure HBO had a special on it aswell Where Nigel benn went to see him. The family use to live on his career money then that run out, then charity money then that stopped.

Will be a good watch and been looking forward to watching it for ages. Other programs about this was a good watch aswell

WOW, just WOW, that is on par with the Senna documentary, what a superb piece of TV.

Very interesting with all the circumstances, the number of times the fight should've/could've been stopped etc etc

10/10

I wouldn't go as far as saying its as good as the senna documentry. A good watch anyhow.

As cruel as it sounds it is kinda like karma what happened to Gerald, a very nasty peice of work and most likely a gangster before his accident. Yeah did feel sorry for him as a human, but not as much as i did do now i know what he was like before.

Some of the clips was from the last documentry i seen aswell. Also, yes they should of picked up on the signs, but they was all there, they all had the power to go to ringside and raise there voice.

Seemed to start from the flying headbutt, that's where the bloodclot would of started to form and stop oxygen going to certain parts of his brain, slowly dying whilst carrying on boxing. Even worse for Nigel Benn knowing he caused it from a dirty tactic.

You're kidding right? It was quite clear that Benn went for the punch, but as his coach said he was no boxer. He stance was wrong and on occasions he just swung in the hope he'd hit the person in front of him. At the time he went for the punch and fell forward. There was no dirty tactic involved what so ever (see Ortiz - Mayweather for one).

As people said, McCellan may have become a great. He may not have. He would most likely been overshadowed by Jones Jr at the time though. One things for sure is that he was no miniature Tyson as that scum bag Don King said.

Its the typical throw a missile whilst falling forward and accidently Roy Keaning them on head.

Happened 100's of times, still happens today. The most dirtiest know move in boxing which is 50/50 on getting away with it.

Agree with the tyson moment though, i was raging to Mrs when they said he was a mini Tyson. Prime Tyson is on par with Ali in my books on greatest, shame Don King ruined his career aswell.
