hey guys, well basically last night a went out to my car as normal and tried to start my car and it tried to turn over then cut out, tried again it started so thought nothing of it, went a short drive 5 mins max to my friends house, was there for an hour got in my car started it again this time it started but sounded like it was missfiring only for a few seconds then sounded like its normal self running fine, took it for a good run car still performing well then today no starting problems at all anyone any ideas what could of caused this? is it common on fiesta st not to start 1st time? its a 57 plate 18k miles full service history thanks

i would say clean your throttle body and see if it happens any more,

or it might have just been a little bit of moisture in your engine bay, if its working fine now dont worry about it

it's very hard to diagnose a problem like this unless with a Diagnostic kit

no what u mean m8, but today its has been working great no problems at all and the engine light didnt come on or that, been doing a bit of research on the net and its been covered a few times that a lot of people have a had starting issues with the fiesta st and think its just the way they are will wait and see if it happens again

but there are a few things you can do to try and prevent it, like i said before, it might have been a few things but starting with the free things are better than giving ford £40 to say we cant find anything wrong

I remember once I started it up and it was idling terribly and an engine light came on. Turned it off amd restarted and it was fine ever since!

Im having a few starting issues too, when the car is cold it starts first time, however if I start it cold drive for literally only 5 mins stop and start I have to give it quite a bit of throttle to get it going, it then ticks over a bit lumpy too, ive heard about and ECU update may be needed, should really kick myself up the arse and look into it I suppose!!.

Mine did this and a warning light came up something like "engine malfunction" I sh*t myself!!

Turned it off and on (scientifically proven way to solve 99% of all problems) and never had a single problem since- weird

You did the right thing mate. That happened to me too once in 4 years of ownership. Turns out like 3 out of the 4 cylinders fire up so you just turn off wait and start her up again!
