I'm getting a custom built longlife system (Cat back) for £289.

That's not bad I hadn't heard of them until a few days ago on here, think it was you talking about them actually?

Are you coming to the meet in st neots?

You can listen to my exhaust if you want...

Miltek 4-2-1 - £125 (Needs a flexi repair but the steel cable tie is working for now )
Decat - Came with manifold
Non Res - £55 off here - The main reason I joined lol
Black Tip Back box - £80 off STOC
Fitting - Gift from gf's parents should have been £100.

Those prices are not including petrol to go and get them though, I bought the manifold not realising it was in Wakefield LOL (I am near Cambridge) i had to drive as the courier failed me :/

But whats that...£260 fitted! Not bad for a 1k system I probably spent around £100 in petrol.

I love the noise of mine once it's warmed up, sounds like I am taking part in a rally at times

I think all the Milltek manifolds that I've seen for sale on ebay are 4-1. Are they 4-2-1 if supplied with a decat? And I bet it does sound like a rally car haha, I had a saxo VTS like that (no centre box or cat). Think if I do go down the modified route, I want it to sound a bit quieter though, as much as I do love the noise haha,
I'm just gonna have to keep looking for bargains I guess

No

4-2-1 is different to the 4-1. 4-2-1 isn't made anymore but is said to have produced more torque - whether or not that is true I don't care, I just wanted 4-2-1 as it is quite rare and hard to find

All new milteks are 4-1. If you want it quiter keep the cat and get a resonated system though!! Non Res + decat is quite...loud

Where abouts are you from? is St. Neots far from you?

4-2-1 apparently break/ crack hence why they stopped making them and changed to the 4-1

This is probably why they are cheaper also

Ah see I did notice a slight difference in sound when I had my sports cat fitted. Originally I only had a cat-back and then had a 4-1 put on. That changed the sound dramatically, then added the sports cat which just tweaked it a bit

Bear in mind my cat-back isn't Milltek though like the rest of my system

I had catback and sports cat on for a week before putting the manifold on which sounded awesome. When I put the manifold on there was no change to the sound just pure raw power

And yeah I heard that 4-2-1 are better for torque but not as good high end?

And Dan, you noticed a big difference after the Mani then?

Just trying to justify paying so much if I can't get second hand lol

Yes big difference after the mani went on loads more power and revs alot more freely than before. Lots more go when you press the go pedal!

That does sound very tempting, but...
And this goes to you too Lee...
Does it make enough difference from standard, to warrant the price? I seemed to keep up easily enough with Tez tonight (though we don't know exactly what his car has, we know the exhaust is done haha)

Without doing other mods you probably won't notice much of a difference, but I will leave it to people who have done it to tell you

Well I'd definitely say mine feels alot faster now than it did before. Only thing that sucks about it is I can't hear my induction roar anymore!

Yes but don't forget Tez has obviously practiced some sort of Wizardry on your cars to achieve this

You both seemed to keep up with me fairly well and my car has got around 30 more bhp!

That was what I thought before I joined the forum

Haha, that's a shame, but for the extra power it's not too bad. Thing is, the extra noise can make things feel quicker than they are! (Jap can and incucton kit on 1 pug 1.1)
Do you know how you fare against a standard/nearly standard ST? (like mine )

That's exactly it! I might be running like 152 MAYBE, with the K&N on (though I'd be surprised to get an extra 5 from induction - also have to take into account maybe 1 lost horse from the age) yet even if this was true, you'd still have exactly 30 more, which should make a bigger difference.

MAYBE IT'S THE WEIGHT OF THE DRIVER? Tez and I are shorter than you haha
