Well, I have just recieved my bonus from work and I'm thinking about spending some of it =] My only problem is I'm torn between what to get =[

My options are:

1. Eibach Springs

2. J1 Automotive induction kit

3. 5000k HID kit

4. None of the above and save my money...

So what do you think I should do? I'm leaning towards the springs because I will keep my warranty (eibach are ford approved) but I dont know whether or not I will get up my drive as it's quite steep and I saw Kenny's S1600 at Trax and it looks pretty low.

Eibachs! As that's what I'm doing next
They won't be SUPER low either, so the driveway shouldn't be an issue.

Just out of interest Luke how much bonus did our glorious employer give you if you don't mind me asking? I got £220 after tax which isn't bad for our store normally it's lower than that but any bonus is better than none right? I've spent mine on new wheels but as you don't need them I'd say get lowered changes the car completely you will love it!

+1 dropped my mk7 yesterday on eibachs and it looks awesome, not as crashy either like they were on the mk6 ST. HID's are in also and went for the ones with anti glare - almost as good as the Xenons i had in the Focus.

more changes coming this week

Dan- We got 125% bonus so I got £483.55 but after tax it was like £328 but hey, free money =]

Lee - I want to get both but I'm trying to save lol (even though mountune is calling)

Andy & Tom - I can't see a thing in the dark lol and 5000k HIDs aren't too bright

Everyone else - cheers for the replies, I think the general opinion is eibachs so I think I'll start pricing them up =]

That's a super bonus isn't it? Ours was £330 odd before tax but everyone's is different. Some lad I know does 3 4 hour shifts a week on chilled and he got £160 somehow?! lol I'm pretty sure they messed loads of ours up anyway. Still free money though

I'd say lower it first but only because when you get the induction kit you'll be booting it more to hear its awesome sound

Handling before Power has always been my motto.

suspension first

you get the car handling better and then with that little bit more power you can enjoy it properly.

Yeah I've always said that too, but it's only an induction kit, and even though it's "proven" to add 5bhp it's hardly power is it? It's just noise lol. But yeah it makes sense to get eibachs because the titanium is mega high anyway an just looks odd...

i know mate but i've been under scrutiny with what ive added to my car but put it all into prospective once i have the power i want i can cram it all in and not have to worry about it not handling well with it.

in terms of what i reckon your enjoy more it would be suspension which i know once your get fitted you will want more power and then answer is 2nd on your list.

wasnt gonna mod this one, it only stayed standard for a week

Have you thought about the aisian spec grille? when it's colour coded it looks great and a little different too. HIDs look spot on.

Not keen on the asian spec grill tbh. The zetec s one seems to look better.

I couldn't find a better price on the springs and the HID's were only £50 with a two year warranty (UK Supplier)

The springs will look great on yours

They are plug and play - unclick standard bulb - connect the pins, and off you go.

Standard wiring so connects in 30 seconds, they are 6000k ones. Which I think is 35w

Right, little update. Today after work, I went to ford to price up some Eibachs. I was expecting to get ripped off, like always when buying from ford, but after a little haggling, I managed to get the price down to £135.15 which I am more than willing to pay. I enquirted about fitting too but they want £130 to fit them which is rather steep. Now I just need to find out how much it will cos me to add them on my insurance policy and figure out if I can get up my drive =[

Took us an hour to fit mine so I don't think £130 for fords to fit them is that bad tbh.

Don't forget to get your tracking done a week after, had mine checked on Thursday and was out after lowering which was another £30 to sort.

Well, just got off the phone to India, that didn't help, so I rang Admiral back up again and after a little bit of faffing around I was informed that it would cost me £48.50 to add springs to my policy, which concidering all insurance companies hate me (and more specifically, my postcode) I thought was very good so I will be ordering the springs on friday and getting them fitted as soon as

Fit them yourself just don't tell the insurance company. You don't want to fork out £130 for ford to do a job that you could do yourself! That £130 could be spent elsewhere maybe on the car

might have changed my mind... These are standard springs.

Those are without me in it, so I'm guessing with my weight and eibachs, it would scrape like a bitch.

Scaffolding boards it's just a pain to get them out every time you goin in or out the house

Looks like your getting induction kit or get some anti roll bars instead of springs dunno if you will benefit without lowering though

Reverse up and down if you have enough room at the top

I usually drive up and reverse down just did it this way for the pics. Only problem is, the angle is the same whether I go forwards or backwards =[
I would carry some scaffolding boards but we have 4 cars and were always changing them around so it's just not practical.
Tbh I never knew it was so bad until I took the pics. I suppose I can spend money elswhere but it bounces around a bit and would look so much nicer lowered.

Hydraulics!!!!! Go for it !! I assume they would be custom
Fit and the ride would still be a little soft but 60mm lowered to stilts in 5 seconds!!! Job done!!
