Good for you. I'm torn between the two. Struggling to justify £2k (including fitting) on the 185 but 165 doesn't seem as good value for money

contrary for all the parts you get 165 is the best value for money of the three

After having a MK 7 Mountune I am so missing my noise! I wasnt intending on going back to Mountune as I had a lot of problems with mine in the beginning, but recently ive found myself more and more tempted again. I was thinking 185, but on reading this thread maybe 165 would be enough for me!! Anyone know when their next coffee morning is, coz apparently they offer good deals on that day! I got my MK 7 offer of free appearance pack, no labour or VAT for being one of the first 10 customers - turns out I was first ZS.

Oh and when I had mine done 3 years ago they never offered any finance/monthly payment schemes but this may have changed!

MK7 engine doesn't respond as well to the upgrade (especially the cams) and MK6 relies more on lack of weight for it's improvement.

I'm 100% set on the MP165 as soon as I've sorted yet another house move, car tax and a bit of body work.

Think I might give em a call soon, what's their normal booking to fitting time? Guess it depends purely on stock?

I was quoted two weeks as they're currently waiting for the exhausts to come into stock, but he said it might be sooner. Not sure with Mountune direct though, can't see it being more than a week if everything is in stock?

EDIT: Two weeks on Friday!

When I ran a quote with admiral (renewal next month) they didn't understand when I wanted to insure my car as a Ford Fiesta ST 165. Instead they wanted me to insure my car with mods but they said they don't cover remaps at all

Well I'm changing insurer anyway, my renewal is 1st June, so I was phoning around to see who would cover me and give a good price with me driving an ST with mods. I'm going to be going with Sky insurance as they are by far the cheapest and give like for like cover on mods.

Admiral do cover engine 'chips' which are arguably the same thing, but I'm not sure what would happen if you were to make a claim etc (if this would be even checked)?

I like to play it safe.

I went with sky after recently having my insurance cancelled trying to add on springs, tints, k&n, this was with Esure, who let me add Mountune to mk 7 three years previously, but as 140 wasnt on their insurance system I had to add it all seperate and didnt even add anything to my premium!

I had bad power loss on the Mk 7, would pull and and the car would just die on me :-(
