Yeah, giving up at this point. Sick and tired of insurance companies insulting my intelligience by thinking offering me quotes of £1500-£2500 is acceptable. I shouldn't have to move away from my home city just to be able to afford a car, but that's how it seems atm.

Issue is. You have a "sporty" car and if the area shows negative agaist sporty cars then "bang" goes up your insurance premium.

You only have to declare the PC30 for 4 years but stays on your licence for 5 i believe.

Yeah it's looking like I have no option but to stump up 480 quid out of thin air, ****ing brilliant.

Greenlight got back to me, got a call, if it weren't for my post code they could easily offer me a quote for arounf a grand apparently.

I live on a hill with 3 other houses and no main roads. No chavs, no pubs etc. It's Sheffield not the fact I'ma young driver apparently. Punished for being brought up somewhere, great.

I've bit the bullet and accepted it's my fault anyway, I know it is. I just think it's a horribly unfair increase.

They're letting me pay it in 2 £240 payments..

3 points should not affect you insurance premium in anyway. They are playing you because you already have a policy opened with them. Ask to speak to someone higher. Explain the situation,If you get nowhere, cancel the policy.

I have had phone quotes with 4 different policy's and PC30 did not effect any of the premiums.

Try Adrian flux.

I have an ongoing dispute with them about it. I've spoken to a manager already and have spoken several times with someone from the complaints department now.

The PC30 is affecting every single quote I get, I don't know why! Skyinsurance is best bet still, need to talk to them.

I had 3 points for speeding a couple of years back, rang up greenlight and no increase in premiums, not even a admin fee!

Then when renewal came..... it went DOWN by £200+

So your insurance firm are taking ppl for mugs by charging so much

E-mail the head of the insurance firm explaining everything and that your very disappointed with them ect ect and see what happens

A difficult situation this one. I've never found Adrian Flux helpful or competitive. Admiral are very cheap for young drivers with sporty cars. You'll be hard pushed finding anything cheaper.

Only car they have been competitive for me on is the RS, seem to be a very hit and miss company

Get a 15% discount for being on pistonheads though

What sort of problems? And how long ago?

It's not very often we get complaints, this we have had about 103 so far..considering we take anywhere between 3-400k calls a week it's not bad going I'd say.

Last year, his engine went in his mk5 zetec s. Decided he wanted to put a puma engine in, but wanted to make sure he could get insured. He speaks to someone at Aviva who says 'yeah we'll insure you for £1000.' so my other half gets the engine put in. He then phones up Aviva to start the policy & they say they won't touch him. He went through the complaints process & they find the voice recording of his first phone call & have to insure him.
It's jus unwanted hassle. Especially considering the fez has to sit in a garage until all this gets sorted.

Well turned out to be a good thing I declared those points, had an accident this weekend . Was my fault too, ironic really I'd been saying how I hadn't had one only days before. rear ended someone, not too fast though and luckily car isn't too bad. Modding plans are out the window now though seeing as my insurance will sky rocket next year, really pissed off with myself. Embarrassed and disappointed tbh..
