I'm alright, just ashamed to have had an accident so easy to avoid.

True and you are all correct. Just annoyed because I was so close to being able to protect my NCB and now I'm going to lose most of it.

Gutted!

Just be thankful you declared your points else you could be paying for the other persons car and whiplash claim out your own pocket and also have to pay for your own car to be fixed.

It might be time now to look to get something in a much lower insurance band to keep costs down if you are struggling with insurance.

It's hard to see anything positive but at least it will teach you to be more careful and a safer driver.

Not read thread but why don't you cancel and go else where before paying the extra? Sky insurance and Adrian flux is where you need to try.

You could try admiral next, they do a 10 month policy but still give you a whole years no claims- might rebuild your NCB quicker

Elsewhere was too expensive by 4 figures so he's had to just pay the fee.

Some companys do offer something called rapid bonus programmes that are designed with this sort of thing in mind, they are aimed at young drivers and are 6 month long policys, the best news is that although its only a 6month long policy your still credited for the whole years NCD, so effectively if your on a rapid bonus policy for 2 years you have 4 years no claims, its a great way for younger drivers to gain ncd but they do pretty strict guidelines on the cover, not 100% sure what companys offer these anymore, i know we used to at aviva but recently stopped.

i'll have a check for you and give you either some website links or phone numbers for companys you can consider.

Ok elephant or bell (same company)
A requote even with the same company often gets you better/ different results anyway as I found out with Aviva

No need to be pedantic, simple error to make
