Thinking my next serious mod is going to be a headunit. Tired of listening to the radio and swapping CD's all the time.

I really want one with a Sat Nav built in but looking at prices they are quite expensive.

A basic double din with all the toys is around £250, rear camera, USB etc. are bonuses if I can find one.

Sat Nav ones are around £600-800, but I can't justify the cost when I can buy a separate TOM TOM for around £100.

Anyone with a double din with/out a Sat Nav share they experiences and recommend one?

Also does sound improve over standard stereo or shall I go for the job lot with Sub, Amp etc.

Last question... , I was looking at a make called Sion Electronics, they do Double Din Navs for around £300 but are these too cheap quality wise?

Have you got an iPod? That's all I listen to in car much better than what's on the radio! Saves a fair bit of money too!

I have got an aux connection to my existing head unit, near the 12v plug. It's not great but i have upgraded the speakers so it's not too bad

Yeah all my music is on my iPhone, I tried the AUX but the sound quality is awful and theres no bass. Bluetooth doesnt bother me mainly just for music and navigation.

I have a pioneer avic f320bt, sat nav, Bluetooth etc but no DVD function. Great bit of kit I think unless you really want the DVD functions.

I think im just been a cheapskate , looks like il get saving and get a decent headunit, maybe some front speakers too.

For the amount of traveling I do I don't think it justifies me buying Nav built in, was looking at Tom Tom's there only around £60 or I could use the free Nav I have on my phone.

If you replace your speakers, send me a pm with your email address and i will send you a guide of how to remove the door panels for the front and how to remove the rear seat bench for the back speakers

Cant remember the name of mine but it's a JVC that changes colour- it has 2 USB ports and is a bit older now so they are going relatively cheap

Although it doesn't have a screen or sat nav it's absolutely bang tidy and well worth the money- the sound quality is vastly improved and I have the rear usb wired into the glove box where I plug in my memory stick and have about 16gbs worth of music on there

thats my Pioneer AVH P3100DVD, it was £470 when i bought it 3 years ago, you can now get them for under £200 i think

does direct ipod control and DVD player, rear camera and sub output, the only thing it doesn't do is satnav but i wouldn't use anything but tomtom when it comes to satnav

you mean the stalk on the wheel?
Yeah I control mine from the stalk on the wheel
You need an adapter thing which plugs in the back of the stereo

long as its a tidy job then more than easy to cut the bars out. not too fussed about doing this anytime soon but good to know for maybe next year.
