It should be a cherry red colour. If its gone black it's no good and needs changing

jack the front wheels up, dissconnect the return pipe and put it in a bottle

then turn second ignition on and then turn the wheel full lock to full lock and it will pump the fluid through

remember to keep filing the tank up as you dont want to run the pump dry

keep going till the fluid comes through red again, i did it twice as it came through red and then a week later it was black again and some of you may remember the noise my pump was making before changing the fluid
