number 1, sounds like your chain has come loose or stretched, they are normally life of the engine or 100k but sometimes they do go (basically the cam belt)

number 2, the rear callipers are prone to seizing up when the car isnt used a lot, it should be fine now your using it, maybe make sure yo use the brakes quite heavily so make sure the rear callipers get some use for a couple of weeks and they will be fine

number 3, the standard ST engine is very restricted and it will die off when you get past those speeds as the top speed is only 128mph so theres not a lot left really, a K&N will sort that out as the airbox is totally stupid as standard

number 4, the pas system is terrible on the ST, boils all the time and it does make a weird noise under full lock as the pump cant handle it, if the fluid isnt bright red it needs changing again, i used 4 liters to get mine red again on my 1st ST as it was so black from being boiled
and the standard ST suspesion is good, but does have a lot of roll as its so high, i would get your alignment done (proper laser alignment not just tracking)

number 5, the bottom bumper clips are so weak they snap off all the time i wouldnt worry about it, both my ST's have lost them and it causes no problems

number 6, have you tried taking the passenger side one out to see what it is, as im sure its the same

sorry to ramble but i hope i have helped

Listen to Dan mate he knows his stuff!!

I don't think it is as bad as you think it is tbh!

Like dan said about the brakes, they should be fine now so leave the hand brake cable, the PAS noise is normal so ignore that

Hitting 90 and going flat...airbox! Or as it has been sitting a while (callipers seized) it may just need a few runs to clear the crap!

And 1) could be your pulleys although, mine need replacing and mine squeak! (Although never do it when you are trying to show someone -_-)

If you get down to the fords parts desk, tell them you need the screw that holds in the wing mirror, they will bring an exploded diagram up and you can point to the exact one you need and they can go get it/order it in.

The ST can be tail happy in the corners but shouldn't wobble, sounds like either a buckled wheel or tracking, get the tracking done and the wheels rebalanced

Cheers for the help guys, I'll get it in Monday to sort it all out, I'll buy some more power steering fluid and flush it through. Another problem I've noticed is the gears go very heavy when the engines warm, what can I do to rectify this in layman's terms?

Cheers,
Jamie

The original air box is the most overly complicated (and crap) thing I've seen. Looks more like a hamster maze.

Ordering a new one as we speak, any recommendations other than K&N I want something a bit more shiny but if K&N is mechanically the best then it's what I'll go for!

K&N is tried and tested, cheap and cheerful! Improved mpg, throttle response and gives a great sound- you won't regret it

Either that or the mountune CAIS which is basically the K&N in a box

FUMING.

Sent my car in to get it's CV boot replaced and next thing I know it's on the back of a tow truck with with the CV axle sheered off. Garage is paying for it all but by christ am I p*ssed. We haven't definitely identified the rattle, as the timing chain works on oil pressure if the viscosity of the oil was too thick it could be causing problems so we were starting with an oil change to the Ford reccomended god knows what was in their previously. Now this has happened, as it's in at the garage I'm getting them to look at the rattle aswell.

Touché Ash.

Sounds like you're sorting things fast pal. You might try cleaning your TB when you fit the k&n, this could be another reason for power loss. Give us a shout if u need a hand with the fitting of it or ur head unit. Also have u made a decision about friday? If ur cars still in garage, def come to the next one and get to meet us all, we're a good bunch and you'll have fun
