Currently looking into getting a full milltek system and Mountune CAIS but funds won't allow buying it all at once. So what i'm gonna do is buy it piece by piece as it each part will keep me entertained for a little while.

What i want to know is what part should i buy first? I'm kind of tempted to get the flexi and the CAIS as they're the most restrictive parts. I could prob stretch to buying both at the end of the month but I'd rather not skint my self really.

If you're going for a full milltek in the end, don't go and buy a flexi first becasue it's part of the milltek manifold, so you'll be stuck with your milltek flexi afterwards

Get the cias first mate and if your getting a full system you don't need the flexi as it comes with the manifold then I would go for cat back then mani then sport cat or get a second hand full system in one go

Ah right saves some pennies then

Is the Mountune CAIS worth getting over the standard K&N 57i? My plan was to go mountune but after the prices I got from Doug at mountune today I was a bit shocked really and was thinking off getting of getting as many of the parts individually either new or second hand to reduce the cost a little bit.

The Mountune cais will probably be better than the K&N as it only has cold air going in, in theory. BUT, I don't see how it can be 130 quid better than the K&N.
(think the Mountune is around 200, K&N is like 70)

And what I would do, even if you do buy them all separately, fit ALL of the exhaust parts at the same time. This way you'll feel the gains from standard properly.

If you fitted a k&n then fitted a cais you wouldnt notice any difference. I didnt notice any difference fitting the k&n from standard :P

I noticed loads of difference with my K&N but i was too busy with the noise from the exhaust when i fitted that to concentrate on the performance difference

depends on your view, get the K&N first for certain, the difference in performance from the CAIS and just the K&N probably is mimimal and not worth the monetary difference. However, the CAIS is quieter and protects the filter a lot more from dirt.
