Not stupid. The beauty about the mountune kit is it looks oem. The garage may have re-fitted the heatshield.
See what the garage have to say

Steve is the forums mountune expert so hopefully he will see this when next on

looks like, MT CAIS and MT Cat back system purchased for the car which anyone can buy from MT.
The heatshield shown is the standard Ford one which will not fit over the MT Piper Tubular manifold.
Would need pics of under car all way to manifold to see if it has the full system and sports cat.
Looks like to me just standard car with the CAIS and Cat Back, it is not a 165 or a 185.

Instructions with the kits will say not to fit the ford mannifold, easy answer though is has it got the tubular manny and also phone MT and they will confirm if offical upgrade.

Hi mate welcome to the site, as a above i knew straight away the manifold was standard as the bolts on the heat shield match to the standard one.

Neither Mountune or Milltek as far as im aware have options for a heat shield to be fitted.

Don't be put down about it though, it's a start you just need to fill in the rest for the 165 package

exactly how did they advertise it, if there was mention of it being an actual MT165 or MT185 then they have breached advertising here but then they will claim as sold to them and that they have a lack of understanding of the kits.
If they advertised it as with Mountune upgrades then that would be fair.
However, least you have some quality upgrades already on the car and you can complete the system to full 165 or 185 but you would need to speak to MT.

ahhhhh i see , guess the question is now what i do as reason already bought one that was a 185 was so wouldn't need to buy the upgrades as can't afford to spare that kind of cash thanks for helping me clear it all up , problem now is per suing the garage about it
