Hi all,

New on here, we brought a ST 2 weeks ago traded in a 2004 Yaris T Sport, and so far so good! Its a 56 plate with 37k on, paid £5,700. It has a few options or so i was told? Its got full heated leather, electric folding door mirrors, tinted rear windows and auto lights. Apart from that i think its standard? has 6cd changer and the alarm but pressumed they were standard?

Its been brought as our second car and so far is fitting the bill.

Has got one issue which is has a vibration noise when pulling off in 1st or low revs in gears, it sounds like a heat shield but i or the garage havent been able to trace it yet. Its booked in the garage i had it from on Saturday so hopefully they'll sort it.

I've read around that its very easy to get more power out of these things? Its not slow, but isnt fast either so a few more horses wouldnt go a miss. From what ive seen online its said to avoid the ford/montune stuff as its all pretty overpriced and the miltek/k & n etc is the way to go, but the BHP gains from such little things seem a bit high?

Couple of pics from today:

Thanks
Lee

Hi and welcome mate nice st you got there where you from.

the mountune is way to go if you got a ford warranty and there kits are pretty much garanteed figures but if not go custom ie KnN and miltek after that it's cams inlet and remap

Hi,

Im from stoke on trent.

Its not been brought from a Ford garage so no ford warranty on it. Wasnt sure about going as far as cams but was thinking the flexi pipe/induction/chip - maybe manifold/exhaust but i wouldnt want it any louder really...

Hi,

Yeah Gary every review i've read says the mountune stuff is good - just if your doing it yourself bit by bit you can get other stuff that does the same for less.

That is true Lee I've got full miltek exhaust and mountune cais for £650 second hand but I did have to buy a brand new sport cat as it only came with de cat so saved a fair bit there aswel buying second hand

welcome along.
You can buy the Mountune CAIS and CatBack system from mountune seperately.
Whatever route, just stick a K&N on first, cold air feed, then full exhaust system including manifold and you will have a much different car, no remap needed.
If you can get second hand parts and or fit them yourself then that is how you can save some money.

Welcome Mountune are expensive but their work is top notch. If I was to have serious work done on my car I'd take it to their HQ

Welcome to the site Lee! Lovely looking ST and by far the best colour teehe. Are you planning on keeping the side stripe? Or going naked? Maybe adding the OTT stripes? What are your visual plans as you've already told us your performance plans

K&N and cat back didnt rly give me any noticeable gains, however, a decat really impressed me and opened up the revs! A mannifold Im told will open them up even further! Get yourself a sports cat if you want to keep things legal and quieter
