I've been told tommorow or Friday, but my dealer has messed me about before, so it wouldn't suprise me if he said next week. I'd say (for me at least), its that you've got the memories tied up in it of places you've been or people you've been with in that car etc. plus the fact that you will have enjoyed driving your old car. If You HAVE TO leave your car in gear then your car's shagged. Sorry Layton but that is complete rubbish i'm afraid. My car very much not "shagged" and when i park on a hill I click my hand break up a notch tigher then I normally would do and put it into 1st or reverse depending on the way my car is pointing up or down the hill. This will stop the car from rolling if any problems do occur. I this is at the weekend parking on a very steep hill in Cumbria. _________________________

ben_st Registered: 02/10/05 Posts: 1957 Loc: Gatwick, UK	I always leave my car in gear too for the same reason as everyone else. But interestingly, my girlfriend was told by her driving instructor to never leave a car in gear when parked just in case someone else got into the car next and didn't take the car out of gear before starting.
