lot of cars on standard internals running high 280's, so guess using the power sensibly would be fine, perhaps you should just buy an SC kit and fit yourself, mapping would be required though.
Speak to SI for help and maybe offer him £20+K (or more ave no idea) for his 500bhp beast........

Haa not got that sort of money, in fact at the minute I've not got much money at all but I'm saving up fast. First things first I'm getting it looking aesthetically pleasing and going all out on it wrapping it, dropping it and treating her to some new Lenso's...

After all that I'm going to start work on the engine but I'm not sure weather or not to keep it standard, drop in some ITB's instead of a standard inlet, 4-2-1 Manifold mapped out, uprated internals and keep her running at the max without forced induction. Still alot of money but I know it'd be reliable and wouldn't ruin anything inside the engine plus it's all stuff I can do without paying someone else to do it professionally.

My alternative is Turbo charging, I'm not sure whats harsher on the engine I've heard because the forced induction of a turbo is pushing hot air into the cylinders that it isn't running as efficiently as it could be and under standard compression your putting the block under alot of strain... However I believe a turbo would be more an every day kind of fast, something that's got some serious poke should you need to put your foot down but that's not going to break the bank running it

The final alternative is to supercharge it, this would invoke I guess the same sort of price uprating everything etc... and it would be seriously fast but I think turbo's are more fun, plus I love the sound of a nice BOV...

My deciding question is going to be how long can I except the car to live for should I go down any of the forced air induction routes? If it's going to drastically ruin the car it isn't something I'm going to be looking at for the simple reason if I spent any amount of money on it it's going to be something I want to keep for a very long time as I simply won't afford to get rid of it. If it's going to be breaking down every 5 minutes then it isn't something for me this is a car that's driven every day with 200-300 miles on the clock every week to get to college and stuff so I need it to be reliable.

Ive heard of people selling up after going the forced induction route, is this cos they want more power or because theyve messed their engines? We have our very own supercharged ST member on here, Dwaine. Whats the score fella? (Im sure hes not the only 1, he just sprung to mind)

For 3-4k i reckon you would be better off with a supercharger conversion. Its a more established conversion with lots of bugs etc worked out.

It can be done on stock management, bottom end and transmission but you have an expensive accident waiting to happen realistically.

If you still want to discuss it, i will reply to the PM?

Si

Think I've heard all I need too,

Cheers anyway though, with the little mechanical knowledge and resources I have I think it's a dead end for me

Cheers anyway though!

A Supercharger is the way forward unless you've got the money for internals then go for a Turbo!

Yes loads of people sell after supercharging I don't know why and this put me off abit,
Iv got no intention of selling mine at all my engine seems fine infact because iv got the c38 supercharger I might forge it later on to get massive gains
IMO its worth it makes the car pretty quick!
