A company called Fleet Save, they source the vehicle from a local dealer. They are coming back to tell me who, probably someone in Birmingham/Stafford. I will let you know when I know.

Anyway, I telephoned Louise in fleetsave and she told me that the car would be sourced for me, 6 to 8 weeks delivery date..........but would be pre-registered and offered £1600 less than the book price for my part ex.

So, I asked her "if the car is going to be specially made, then why is it pre-registered" and she said it had to be to sell it for £10,300 - with the extras I wanted £11,600.

I'm gutted - not sure what to do now!!

It doesn't make a difference to you if its pre-registered, it just means that the company you bought it through will be down as the first registered keeper on the V5. To be honest, who cares about that?

I've bought mine pre-registered too. Its a factory order also (as are nearly all ST orders nows), its just the company is buying the car first, then I'm buying it from them. It makes sense when you're saving so much off list price (mine works out at a £2,600 saving), you're unlikely to find a deal anywhere near as good on a car where you'll be first keeper. I'll never buy a car from a franchised dealer again...

I work for a firm and we have 3500 vehicles on our fleet. We are often getting in pre-reg's as this helps our dealers boost their sales to the manufactures. Basically, lets say you are set a target by Ford to sell 10 ST's in a month, you would pre-reg these to your dealer as then it appears a sale is made. Goes a bit more in depth than this but really is nothing to worry about.

Good job fiestakingfisher, bet you can't wait? I'm chuffed as I got a delivery date on mine this morning, picking it up next Thursday. I think there is a bit of a wait on cars with the reflex pack added, but it shouldn't be much more than 8-10 weeks.

One thing though, I didn't think ESP was available on UK spec cars? I certainly couldn't find it on the options list.

it's only been added fairly recently.... if u look on ford.co.uk, and go to fiesta and features and specs... in the 'options' section it has it....

Fair enough, I knew it was availabe in other European countries but wasn't sure if it had yet been introduced over here. It should be standard, tbh.

Ordered my ST yesterday:

Diamond White, Full stripes, Privacy glass.

£10461 with the Ford employee discount.

No build/delivery date as yet (sadly).

I ordered a Diamond white ST on 23rd April. Included privacy glass, reflex pack with ESP and interior style pack for the price of £10,264. The price is via Ford employee discount and a very good dealer deal. I'm still waiting for the car. Been told i now have a build date of 14/6/05, car should arrive either the end of June or early July. I certain hope the car is worth the wait. I've seen a few and while the red is very nice i went for white, reminds me of my old white Escort SI i use to have. I have to say the roof stripes are a bit too much in my opinion. But i would consider adding the stripes to the side of the car. Reminds me of the RS turbo, serie one model.

Compared to my ST170 its ok, looks great, handles well, engine performance getting better, so as good as ST170 but could end up better.
Downside centre console and seats are shit (to narrow & short, no lumbar support)
At first was very dissapointed after 5 month wait, but its growing on me every time i drive it, just sussing out whether it's worth fitting a set of front seats. So i'm waiting on some info from Recaro, if its what I expect then a set of front seats like the Concept RS will be bout and fitted.
