My vote is save your money.

For me it will be the MR200 when it finally is ready. I can upgrade now to a Focus ST/RS if I wanted to, but I don't want to. You want to upgrade/change, so any cash you spend on your car now will be dead money. Keep your cash and put it towards a better car when you do upgrade.

Patience is a virtue

If it were me and I KNEW I was selling up in a year for definite, Id save. however if moneys not tight, why not? You may find the MR200 restores your love for the car, and you keep it two years instesd of one. You might consider waiting for Mountunes Cars n Coffee and seeing how much discount you get for the kit then. Might save yourself a couple of hundred pounds then.

Well that was my thinking, why not, and money isn't tight so I could afford it but then I think ahead to say a years time and that £1700 could be the difference between getting a car in a spec I want and maybe having to settle for something a little less. And the Mr200 would be a blast and I know I'd love it, but spending over 3k on mountune upgrades only to sell shortly after isn't very justifiable and neither is having 2 cars. Anyway in the mean time I'll continue to terrorise country roads in my mp165 which I'm certainly still very fond of
