Gary, i'm going to make one up myself. I have a brand new Mercedes oil cooler that i'm going to run the fluid through to cool it and relocate the reservoir. The only bit i'm struggling with now is what this adapter is that some kits come with?

What does it replace? I presume it is fitting on the power steering pump? If so, how is the pipe connected at present? Is it anything more than a barbed hose connector welded to a plate with the screw holes in?

Oh wander what secrets are contained within

It's a PAS cooler kit for the Fiesta ST

Let's let this one out of the bag

Genuine product.

Clearly a well thought out idea of supporting the cooler

Crimped Pas pipes, lets hope for no leaks.

Plenty of fixings, got to be better then the tie wraping method for sure

(may change to jubilee's. but it does give more of an OEM look with this method)

Just awaiting for the instructions to appear online and it may get fitted this weekend.

this is what he sent me

Essentially it's:

• Remove the lower grill
• Pull out the insert between it and the rad
• Mount cooler with the bracket and bolts provided
• Remove the lower pulley cover
• Drill four holes and push in the supplied cable clips
• Cut the return pipe coming out of the reservoir
• Join the two hoses together - out of the rack into the bottom feed of the cooler.
• Fit the support clip to the AC hose
• Re-fit grill parts.

It should be up no later than tomorrow - any problems, give me a shout.

Best regards,

Sounds like a bit of a job. I'll have a look at the pics when you take some and see how it looks. May have to ask you a favour

It's just occurred to me what that adapter is for. I never realised that the reservoir flows directly into the pump with no pipe inbetween. Jeesh.

Now to figure out what size the adapter is.

The mountune kit looks very thorough for cooling. Should be good.

This mountune pas cooling kit is very difficult to install....

Mainly where mountune have asked or stated the place to cut into is in the most awkward location ever to get into to cut the pipe and join it.. Especially when using there supplied clamps they shall be receiving an email from me when I put the car back together with a few suggestions!!

Don't get me wrong it looks fantastic, the first 7 or so steps are easy, take apart drill 4 holes and put back together.... littrally plug in and play its strange how pretty much all the fixings are there.... But unless your strech arm strong to cut the pipe and join it with everything else still attached is effort....

i've given up now, taped the ends of the cooler up and tucked them safely out the way and i'm going to extend the pipes as you would of done if using the mondeo cooler and join into the pas return pipe there.

essentially mountune provide you with some fancy clips and a cooler, the crimped ends are nice as it reduces chances of leaking...

however those pipes are far too short for me to also confidently cut the pipe they tell you too and then manage to join it on.

I have no idea if Dan_the_man will be doing his this weekend as i would like to see how he gets on...

but without dropping the subframe, a suspension component or removing the engine it's just not worth it there. especially if its a place that could potentially house a leak.

i have an idea on routing the pipes up and over a bit better and which way to go as i've looked at all possible options

its just lucky i don't have to drop all my PAS fluid again otherwise i would of been pissed!
