Theres a few options to choose from, handheld devices such as bluefilm or dream science, where you will have different maps for applications( induction kit, induction kit and exhaust etc) Then custom maps from people like jamsport. Have a few readups on the net and see what you think.

Just go to a reputable dealer and you'll be fine, tens of thousands of people have proved that.

Josh I had my first remap done at Motorsport Devlopments in Blackpool - they specialise in Fords.

I'm considering going back to them as my car is still a little unpredictable with the Jamsport map on it...

Cheers for advice u lot. Lee when you thinking of going and most importantly what sort of cost am i looking at

Also i have looked at the handheld unit and have read that some of them have lives, can anyone explain this as it seems a lot of money to pay for a device which will run out?

They'll only do so many maps before you have to have e.g. dreamscience reset it.

So is that a further cost on top of buying the unit. That seems costly. If you have already paid for the software why should you have to pay for it agian?

I think you pay for the unit and the software which has a number of lives, once you have used up the lives then you can buy more which does not cost as much because you already have the unit? Can anybody confirm this?

Basically you get 4/5 lives on a handheld unit, badically this means you can put maps on 5 different cars, and can change the maps on said cars how ever many times you want. But if you want more lives you said it back and they reset it for you....which is about. £200!

Then again, the unit is like £3-400 for a handheld, so doing it between a group would be best!

Ohhh so a life constitutes how many cars you have registered the tool to and not how many times you change a map on a single car?

yes but imo there is no point in buying a map unless you have cams etc or your stopping modding,

or the dream science is another option and i think that has 3 maps on it ? and if you only use it on your car and you go down the custom map route later you can sell it on and get most of your money back
