Take the lid off the reseviour before rewinding them, don't think you need to open the bleeder?

Like Chris said open the resrviour and wind The piston back, no need to clamp and no need to open bleeder nipple, also if your pretty full in the reservoir put a rag around the neck to catch any spills!

What is the best way of rewinding the piston? Using one of the rewind kits? Any recommendations on a decent one at a reasonable price?

Get this one: http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/120910822...=sbar&cbt=y

It's one of those tools where it's worth having, it'll last forever and if you only use it once it'll be cheaper than the labour of having a garage do it.

I was looking at those actually a while back. Are they good quality and easy to use?

Very easy to use, the plate with a hole in it sits on the inside of the caliper and when you wind it, takes all the pressure so it drives the piston down and into the caliper. All rewind tools work exactly the same really.

Can't speak for the quality but it's the exact same kit sold on Amazon for £38. You're covered by the SOGA anyway so if you aren't happy just send it back

I just bought a kit for £20 inc postage. Looks good quality and just the same as all the other kits out the. For that price its well worth doing yourself. When i get the new discs on i will take photos and make a how to guide

Yeah, that can work as long as you're careful not to damage the piston or send it back in at an angle and jam it. Also, it won't work on cars where the piston actually needs to be twisted as it goes back in. I don't think ours do though.

No twisting of piston required! mine were forced in with various sized hole punches and a hammer
