Every time I turn my car on it resets my mpg and average speed. Its not a massive issue but it still annoys me I cant see it being the battery because all of my radio presets still work...

Very weird. I'm guessing that the instrument cluster should have a permanent live along with an ignition live. Perhaps that has a short in it, or a fuse has gone?

Does your rear wash wipe still work?

Fuse 201 may have blown.

EDIT: Sorry, that was for a Transit connect... *fail*

Check Fuse 19 (engine management, alarm, radio), Fuse 13 (brake light, instrument cluster)

If the battery had a loose connections surely the radio would lose all of it's settings? The car starts up fine as normal, I'd imagine a loose connection would mean that now and again the car wont start properly?

Nice one mate, I'll have a look later

Mine has been doing this recently too actually. Weird. I did remove my rear wiper motor recently, so I wonder if that's doing it.

Bad connection on the back of the cluster for the permanent live?
Would work when the cars switched on but as soon as you turn it off, the permanent live wouldn't cut in to save the settings, wouldn't affect anything else

Mine does a similar thing, but only once in a while and only with the Trip miles.

Every now and again it will zero itself at random be it 300 miles or 700 miles clocked up, it suddenly goes to zero

Come to think about it, my Black '08 did the same, maybe a software issue

As you say, not really an issue, just a little anoying

Went to look at the fuses earlier and couldn't decide if it was ok to just pull them out. I'm sure the brake light one would have been ok, but is it ok to just remove the engine management one? Surely it's just the same as disconnecting the battery?
