Apple maps have been widely criticised to be fair, but I still like them. Google maps app is OK, it's just a little choppy for my liking. When Apple get round to sorting out the POI database and the colour coding it should be a better product.

The story about Apple maps putting people's lives in danger in Australia did make me laugh, but it was a shame that the news sites glossed over the story from the day after from the same people saying that Google Maps also directs people through unsuitable areas

Rob - you can use the iPhone version on the iPad - a native iPad version is coming soon.
