Just phoned around to see who had a car ... Had a test drive yesterday. Stepped straight out of the car and ordered one. Yipee! So excited. Can't wait until it is delivered next month ...

The car is a real sweetie. Pedals in exactly the right place. Plenty of adjustment for the driving position. Gearbox is sooo smooth. Dials are simple and clear and easy to read. The grunt from the engine is really something else when working up the gears and giving it a boot. A really great drive - dual carriage, twisty road etc. I'm going to love this car!

I'm having a test drive this Saturday back to back with the Focus ST3 also aswell as the Fiesta ST. I prefer the fiesta in terms of size, I like small cars but just want to compare performance and curiosity really of the focus ST

The focus is a bigger car which obviously means harder parking. The Fiesta is the choice I'd go for. Let us know your verdict

Totally agree with you on the parking, the focus seems massive when sat in the back looking forwards. I'm getting quite excited about the back to back test drives this will be a fab experience

I went down to Essex Ford at Dunton and drove the Blue Focus ST3 and the Molton Orange Fiesta ST2 both absolutely fantastic, both fast off the mark, focus had a proper meaty deep sound and loved the raw,I think it's more of a mans car though. I think the fiesta ST2 was a more lighter drive, felt more 'zippy' OMG that can shift also. I shall now be planning on selling my TT and over this next month to make way for the ST2 Just for a giggle I drove the little white ford Ka as I like them too and was curious about the drive of it ... oh ek my foot was right on the floor, it wouldn't go any faster clutch was high and I kept reving it up . Definately not a car for me but the driving had to be done LOL

Finally got an e-mail this morning from my local dealer to say that they've got a demonstrator ST2 in. Bearing in mind I originally went in there back in Feb to request a test drive... although the first I saw that they had a new ST in was Saturday when I was in to the parts desks picking up a new grille badge.

i did have a testdrive and priced one up and it came out at £150 a month for a frozen white ST2

but

it just didnt feel fast or torquey tbh, i felt like mine had a lot more to give, the ower band was too short, felt like my st before it had cams, i know turbo cars are different how they put the power through but it just didnt feel fun

it handled amazingly well though, i think i scared the sales girl taking corners not far off as fast as i would in mine with no trouble

We posted a few weeks ago the problem we had with screen reflection. Slowly this is being reported on more and more forums.

We tried a local wrapping company but they advised that they were unable to help as nothing they use would adhere to the vinyl of dashboard.

We looked at plasti-dip Matt black having used it on the plastic trim of my mini lights. The company said it would work but we are not the best at spraying

3 emailed a couple of leather trim companies. They suggest covering with alcantara but said its a dash out job so quoting 6-750 ouch

Finally we bought a sheet of lambs wool felt. Laid it over the dash with so far a hole for the DAB button and another for the vent over sat nav
It's cured 90% of the problem BUT due to the shape of dash and our inability to do anything artistic it looks awful lol.
is anyone else having a problem and any solutions ??

I know it wouldn't solve the problem completely but in the sunniest conditions could you wear polarised sunglasses to block the reflections?

Have heard about the sun glasses solution but we both wear glasses so again a costly solution. Can't understand why no one here has same issue, maybe our dash extra shiny.

i didnt notice it reflecting as it was really bright the day i drove it...

im pretty glad i didnt go for the new ST as i wanted to see how good the mountune kit was as it didn't feel fast tbh,

I think i made a good choice i was glued to the bumper of the ST215 kitted fiesta at ford fair and even dropping off my cams at one point coming out of becketts corner then when it picked up i was reeling it in down the straight

then did overtake

Yours has no weight in it tho, a fully stripped, lightweight MK7 would be a different story......

that's what I thought when I had a spin in one, feels quite flat.

i didnt mean the cornering speeds though the straight line drag...

and with everything taken out of my car i worked out it weighs 1100kg

the new ST with everything in it is 1160kg so pretty much the same so i feel like the MR200 is well on par with the MP215, will be interesting to see what the MR2** has when it comes out later in the year
