But you dont mind when every road in holland is as so well looked after, didnt find anything to moan about whilst driving there last year

Over here I look drunk everywhere as road tax is spent elsewhere, they keep going on that it will cost 400 million to repair all roads, then they moan theres 31 million cars on the road, most people spend more than 100 quid a year on tax it should pay for itself but the government are thick, its simple maths

especially when you see they take 66% of what you spend on petrol as well!
They are dicking all over motorists left right and centre and what do we get in return? broken suspension and buckled alloys- cheers guys

The sun had an iteresting artical on this the other day "BRITISH drivers pay £46bn a year in motoring taxes for the worst roads in Europe

"BRITISH drivers pay £46bn a year in motoring taxes for the worst roads in Europe

In return, the Government are investing just £6.3billion on major motorway and trunk road schemes and providing councils with around £3billion between 2011 and 2015 to maintain the roads"

People complained that Road Tax wasn't being used to fund the roads, so they called it Vehicle Excise Duty so that they could use the cash generated by it for other things.
