Just tried a 0-60 got 9.1 with 3 people in and just over half a tank. Any ideas why she was so slow?

Probably the heat. mine seemed slow the other day. almost everyone said it was the heat.

Try measuring the 0-60 with just you in the car and using the reserve tank. All ST's differ in speed slightely.

I measured mine with me and my mate in the car on the reserve tank and got 7.5 secs!

hot weather seem to be the problem of the ST but extra weight doesn't help either!

How are you folks measuring 0-60 times. The speedo is not that accurate.
Best times would be on a cold, dry day with warm tyres that were at a lower pressure than you should use on the road. As stated before a nearly empty tank and no passengers will improve acceleration

You will need to use a GPS verified speed, like with the road angel. The speedo is well out, 70mph on the speedo reads 65mph GPS verified

I understood even the GPS indicated speed is an extrapolated speed rather than genuine speed. Most GPS units do not, by default, update gps position more frequently than once per second which is not accurate enough for 0-60 timings. They would allow you to see how inaccurate the cars speedo is when maintaining a steady speed and course eg on a motorway. Even if you know the cars speedo is indicating 60mph accurately at a steady speed, there is no way to allow for the lag of the needle travelling around the dial when accelerating. This is why most Magazines use additional external equipment to measure speed and acceleration.

Yes and also because the OEMs set the speedos 5-10 MPH fast on modern cars worse still on old ones with cables so you don't get done for speeding so much.

There a way to find if ur speedo is accurate by calculating the time with distance and speed but don't remenber how I going to look and try to find out!

At 60mph you will do 1 mile in 1 minute

but if your speedo's out, so will your mileometer as it works off the same signal!!
The only way to tell is by the markers on the side of the motorway that count up/down to the nearest emergency phone.
They are exactly one 10th of a mile apart
