Car is in having the MOT done as we speak. Fingers crossed she gets through it ok! On Tuesday whilst at the garage, she had a new lower arm, exhaust, drive shaft gaiter and radiator fitted so hopefully she should pass with flying colours.... I HOPE!
Will keep you all updated.

Yeah she has and she will be even more spoilt because unfortunately she has failed

The rear brake valve is leaking and the offside front top mount steering system has ceased up
I've been quoted £258 all in, not sure if that's cheap or expensive as my first car passed MOT

I know more about cars now than I did when I passed but I'm still not an expert so when I actually went to get the car, I basically went with my eyes closed as I had no idea what I had to look out for.

It doesn't help the car is pretty old too I guess.

Same as my first car. I started getting a problem with steering, used to make a knocking noise when turning the wheel all the way from side to side. So i got shot off her

Top mount steering system?
You mean the top mount suspension bearing?

Dead easy job that if you have a couple of spring compressors. 1 hour job.
Wish I was closer I could do that for you. £10-15 for the mount.

Rear brake cylinder appx £10. Again, easy 1 hour job.

I'd strongly advise you look on the Good Garage Scheme, find a garage in your area with a high rating and ask them to verify and quote the work, because it sounds lke you're being well over quoted for those two jobs.

I was told I needed a load compensator and a top mount bearing is that right?

Yeah, Pugs use a compensator. You sure you need the entire thing though? that'd be really unusual. It's usually just the spring that goes. Spring is 20 quid. The whole thing is about 80ish
That's what would take the price up.

Yeah apparently I need the whole thing, bearing cost me £32 and the load compensator has cost me £79. Really struggled to get the compensator, will see what the outcome is tomorrow.
