Don't tell Scotty.

Personally i would go for it just because it's a quicker car. The is by no means slow though.

Is there any reason why you want to change?

i have the money and might as well get my toys while i am young, also, i have always wanted 1, not just cos its quicker than the St, but its an Rs focus, the longer u wait for them, the rarer they will become

I'd change it, RS is gonna become a classic, no offence but i dont really think the fiesta ST will (very risky thing to say on here)

It was a few seconds slower on the 5th Gear track I believe. From the impression I get its not an easy day to day car where the ST is. Talk to Phyzzo about it Jonesy

I think it was Ford, in a press pack, who claimed the ST was quicker than the RS around their Lommel ?spelling test track in Belgium. I believe it is a tight twisty circuit, almost a karting track. Satelite Image This would suit a Fezza more than a Focus.
Didn't Clarkson say the RS was undrivable on British roads. I take that as a challenge so I'd have one.

You didn't dream that, it's fact

He did yes, but he also drove around a corner and said that the car twitched all over the place and made a massive swerve mid-turn which infact he did himself.

The is an easy day to day car just aslong as you don't keep flooring it everywhere as it will eventually build your neck muscles up to 10x your head size (well... maybe not some people).

Around country lanes a normal focus or fiesta would probably be a little more capable as the british roads aren't very smooth and the can get a little ropey at speed around corners (not to the point of what Jezza was banging on about though).

It looks great, is limited edition... can bloody shift and is an enthusiasts car... so... get it... I am

Yep, the spelling is correct, it's about 20 miles from where i live.

Go for it Jonesy! If i had the cash, i certainly would, but the insurence is way to high.

and from the 5 people who i have spoken to, they all say the RS is abit harder to live with than any normal car cos of the costs, which are double and sometimes triple the cost of a normal focus!!!
i think i will end up getting it

I think i'd rather the new Focus ST to the oldr RS. In orange it's one of the best looking cars on the road imo. Looks wise i think the ST beats the older Focus RS, the previous generation Focus does look a little dated now.

Really? personally i don't think the black focus st stands out. It looks like a normal focus. That could just be me though

No, not just you. The black Focus doesn't do anything for me. And still don't like the orange either.

i will say again, i am not after the RS cos of speed, i personaly 50 - 50 with the St, its a fast family car, where as the focus RS isnt! the focus St is for the mum and dads out there after something that they can play around in when the kids are not about!
plus the RS focus till date is the last every Rs made, and even more only 4,500 were ever made, also the st has 225 bhp and the RS has 212bhp!, not a big differnace is there?

The RS is a totally different car to the ST, how can i explain? The RS is a harsh ride, lots of driver feedback and pushed harded can sacare the crap out of you, the Focus ST is a fast family car. You can use it as a everyday car throw the wife and kids in it and go shopping, holiday etc, and when you are on your own you can boot the crap out of it and its fast. The problem is its mass produced will lose money like "Thames Water" and will never have the cult appeal of the RS. The downside to the RS is they are expensive if you think the ST uses fuel the RS is worse! Would I change? YES for a new RS!!!!!!!!

a Focus RS is a limited edition compared to a Focus ST and there only 1 available colour for the RS (Blue), compared to the Focus St which have plenty. The St is more powerful than the RS. RS more a boyracer car, the ST more a family car! I go for the RS. The RS is only available in second now but still there cheaper than the ST true higher mileage for the RS but never so one with high mileage so it should be no trouble!

Seatbelts in the back of an RS work nicely too.
