Service costs are a rip off. I've decided to service my cars myself as best as I can (without the need for a ramp). Anything I can't reach i'll get done... but not paying stupid money.

Cambelt change next for me... gulp.

I trust pat but I know longer trust Rob with his pricing, it's getting quite steep
Also I really dislike Leon that works their thinks he knows it all, nearly just told him to F off last time I was there

Do all my servicing myself now, far too much money at main dealers. I pay around £50-£60 for parts, labour is free as it's me doing it, and give my mate at a proper garage a drink to stamp the book for me.

I like this way round a lot better as at least I know for a fact that things have been done and done properly rather than glossed over or rushed.

Servicing is extremely easy and once you do your own service for the first time, THATS when it hits you and makes you question why the hell the dealers charge so much. You don't even have to jack the car up, and you'll be thinking "I pay at least £150 for this?"

A basic socket set and you can do it yourself in under an hour. My last full service took me 35 mins!

Worth noting I wouldn't recommend doing this on a MK7 ST - your warranty is effectively void as soon as you get it serviced elsewhere.

You dont have to go to ford to service your car to keep the warranty intact.that legislation was changed years ago
