Hi all from me, not quite got a complete car, currently an engine out of a MK6 which I've modified slightly with a few bits and some paint., It will eventually be the heart of a scratch built mid engined "kitcar" Hope you don't mind me joining, I'm in particular need of some technical advice on the clutch and gearbox side of things I'll post up due course in the appropriate section once I've said hello. Mind you I do quite like the idea of picking up a car and dropping the engine in just to test it as you do.. smile

Here's a couple of before and after shots...

A couple of arty shots...

One more after..

The zorst isn't the best though it'll do to get the chassis sized properly, and it looks shiny

Cheers all grin

Hi Dan it'll look something like this...

In essence a mid engined Caterham. Not sure of the final styling details yet,,may go old skool or keep with a modern racing theme "monster" or Playstaion liveries are in the frame.

Thanks Jack, not sure of the exact version of manifold, I believe its from an R300, cast alloy version, thought it would do rather than make one. Scratched the Word Caterham off it and a bit of crinkle paint added Has a 70mm throttle body attached to it (from a 4.6 mustang I think)

Newman 278 cams, heavy duty springs and retainers. Cosworth pistons, williams Motorsport rods Mahle bearings Cometic head gasket Raceline sump cosworth oil filter housing Rotrex blower, awaiting a race alternator and brackets

Estimated 300-320bhp, it'll do grin

I think plastic versions are available on the caterham site, though I find it hard to navigate. The cast versions are no longer available new. You need to keep an eye on the bay they occasionally come up for sale.

Second that, they rarely come up, i worked out the cast one is too big to fit under the bonnet of the st, but the plastic one might just fit.

They have a newer better inlet out than that now though that is an even better fit wink
