What the most aggresive cams that you can use without having to use uprated valve springs etc? I was thinking of getting some Newman 278/278 or Newman 280/280.

I think jamsport have fitted cosworth cams without uprated springs but mountune piper cams aren't as aggressive i don't think (think the highest they can go is about 270bhp) but they change the valve springs aswell for peace of mind. I think someone else may be able to explain it a bit better than me

Uprate the springs jack you never know that way you can go as harsh as you like

165 to 185 is only about £400-£500 above and you get the uprated springs included so might be worthwhile trying piper seeing if they do something similar so you can get the springs aswell
