Not something that's come up I don't think

Probably better putting this in the MK7 section rather than the new member section thumbs

I know its not great.its not a problem that the strip has dropped but as it has its pulled the Strip inside the rear bumper away slightly leaving a hairline gap between the black plastic trim and the orange coloured part.it looks like that strip was held underneath with a spot of glue or something(deffo not strong enough in my opinion so going over bumps etc has worked it loose.a stronger resin would hold it back easily and I could do it no problem but as my first service is due by end of march ill get them do it same time.my 10 plate zetec S before this had a seat cover replaced after a few months and I was told trim is covered for 12 months only, not 3 yrs like the mechanical warranty.i hope theyve solved the side skirt problems too as they were notorious for coming away near the rear(held to the side sills mainly by double sided tape.this happened on my 58 plate zetec S.im glad they've changed the black plastic caps at the front of the side skirts as again these came away at the top.theyve now revised these with screws which hold it better.a great car but some build issues I can see still from when the new shape was introduced in October 2008

Well...ford tried to hold down that trim with double sided 3m tape.lasted 1 day.an st in the showroom was the same. Its a really poor design.anyone with an st 2013 fiesta have a look.its so stiff and bent downwards at the end of the trim that its impossible to hold with tape.Ford said it should be bonded really to the underneath. So back in again next week.they said this will probably affect most st's.i agree.its a pony design.i tried bonding it (ford said was ok me to try before booking back in), but that part is too stiff and bent downwards and doesn't meet the underneath. I found it totally impossible to stick.there should be a tiny self tapper holding it really.my zetec S 10 and 58 plates front plastic caps for the side skirts always worked loose so I stuck them permanent and never were loose again.great car.same old trim issues.id love to know who designed this trim...shoot him.or her lol

Probably do it myself as every time I get something like this i pick it up and theyve not done properly or it lasts 2 seconds...ill araldite the strip to the underneath, clamp it carefully leave an hour job done.done it on my zetec s side skirt front caps.better than what factory did

That's how its meant to be stuck down ford not left to hang down.the tiny gap you still see is meant be there.its for water drainage fords tell me and not to be blocked up.i think it looks good

I carefully applied araldite extra which sets in 5 minutes unlike the normal one, to the strip underneath the bumper only, pulled it in flush with the orange bumper bit you see at the back, then to hold it firm for 15 minutes I used a car jack.i put a cloth on top of that so it didnt mark the plastic strip, not that would matter as you cant see it underneath and then the jack clamped it gently and held it firm.job done.looks better than when I got it.its a crummy design and anyone with the same car. ..it will come undone...eventually
