Hi all

Not really a petrol head although want to know if I can paint my calipers with my new rims still on (my new rims are on the forecourt page under new rims(couldnt copy pic)).

They are 5 spoke so there is plenty of space to do so, just read that other people had taken them off (although this is obviously to do with the spokes on the original ST alloys)

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I would advise you take the wheels off, it will be alot easier.

Yeah no way id try it with the rims on, take em off, takes 2 mins and get much better job

it really is the easiest thing in the world to do taking a wheel off mate.lol
i do it all the time just for cleaning haha

surley if you painted them with the wheels on you would jack it up so you could rotate the wheel anyway?

I wouldnt risk it with the wheels on, You wouldnt save any time by leaving them on cos i'd imagine it'd take longer to paint the calipers.

Plus all those stringy bits of paint that blow around when the paint thickens in the tin,would get all over the wheels.

risky painting the brake calipers, probably not do a good job and probably messing up ur alloys as well!

Did you try this then Milky??? Please tell me you didn't.
