..Anyone tried it yet??

Ive heard mixed opinions but most people have said it's better than Optimax and Tesco99 fuel!!

My local Shell Garage still doesn't have it

I've tried it in my Escort and in the non-cat Clio and they both defenetly run better on it. I would not say there is more power out of the engine but on the Clio for instance there sometimes is a sort of hesitation during accelleration at mid-range... With V-power this is totally ironed out... On the Escort I've not owned it long enough to say for sure... it is possible that since I've put V-power once it has just begun to run better but I'm back on 98 now (have been for a few fuel tanks) and it seems to be running good on that too. I've not tried it in the Fiesta as the Fiesta seems to like 95 so as long as it runs well on that, I don't see any reason to change.

I've tried, didn't notice a lot of difference, but i ususally use BP ulitmate anyway so you wouldn't expect there to be any.

Is this new 'V-power' improved on Shell Optimax or is just a marketing ploy?

It does have some additional benefits over the Optimax, a higher RON (I think) but there is also a new additive that it supposed to reduce friction in the engine.

If you have been using premium fuels before, I doubt you'll notice much difference.

The anti-friction additive may help your engine a bit in the long run, it may also help if your always ragging it and spend all your time above 6000 revs!

I'll be putting this stuff in my tank when I pick up the ST on Friday.

Didnt shell bring out a fuel sometime ago that burnt the valve seats etc. so it was withdrawn after complaints, but it took months to discover it !!!

I think that would have been something to do with lead replacement petrol.

The lead in older petrols stopped this from happening, of course when you take it out, you get problems.

Any modern engine is designed to run on unleaded petrol, so we obviously don't have a problem. V-Power isn't that vastly different from optimax or any other fuel, i doubt any problems will arise from using it a few months down the line.

tried it in our St and it does love it, missus even noticed the difference, definately sings better after 5k and more responsive lower down, but not a huge differenc efrom the BP ultimate that was in there before, but both are definately bttter than 95 ron, not sure if they are 5p+ a litre better though

Been using VPower for a short while and I dunno if its psychological but am impressed, seems to run really well on it, smooths out the gaps like has been said before and feels quite powerful

I have used ultimate the whole time ive owned the car so cant comment on the difference really. But putting a higher grade of fuel in cant make it any worse can it?!

How can we be sure we are getting V power fuel? it seems to have replaced the old tanks that contained optimax at the petrol stn.so what happened to all that optimax before it was replaced with V power fuel at the pump ?

It is possible, but since Optimax is no longer made, and V-Power has been out a while, I think that all the Optimax would have been sold off the pumps.

Definately smoother in my 05 ST. My wife put it in her brand new Fiesta by mistake and she said the car now flies!

Yeah I try and put Super Unleaded in mY Leon wherever I can. It revs a lot lower when its run on Super and feels a lot smoother to drive.
