I'm expecting a delivery of an rs front splitter from Triple R Composites in the next week or so, which means it's time to finally get my lower grill painted to match my upper and fog surrounds.

I'm thinking it would probably be easier to remove the lower grill for painting and re-fitting along with the new splitter with the bumper off the car - easier to access everything. Just wondered how easy is it to remove the front bumper? Or will that be more effort than it's worth?

more effort than its worth in my opinion
gotta take the headlights out to get access to the bolts, two each side where the bumper connects to the wing
they are a pain to get to
also the bumper will flex more when off so will make fitting the splitter harder

just remove the lower grille while the bumper is on the car
fitting the splitter is easy enough
you only need to raise the front end a bit really. (luckily I had access to a car lift when I fitted mine)

Ok cool, i won't bother then. I have some fairly high ramps so i'll just put the car up on those. Hopefully i'll be able to find all the clips for getting the grill surround out!

I wouldn't put it on Ramps mate just incase you can't get back of off or rip the splitter of that you just fitted

or check when you go up the ramps that there will be enough space for the splitter when you come down...

My driveway is on a slope which makes getting the jack under the front of the car near impossible, which is why i always use ramps. Will have to drive to someone's house who has a flat driveway hmm

the front bumper is easy to remove, remove the headlights and the 2 screws in the arches and then there are 3 bolts holding it onto the wing and it comes off

i have ha mine off so many times now i can do its in less than 5 mins

All done happy Proper happy with it now. As you can see i didn't bother taking the bumper off. Having it high up on ramps made access to the clips so much easier though thumbs
