does the ST have a different shaped boot & back end to the normal fiesta?? (i know it has a sifferent bumper. lol) as i've just bought a set of aftermarket lights from esp and the boot lid wont go down as they are catching. and also there is a bit of a gap between the lights and the bodywork. i think they have been badly made as there is this bit of the lense that sticks out, whih is causing the boot to get stuck. its a good job i didnt slam the boot down or i'd have fooked them! they are definately for the mk6 pre facelift 3 door. now im sending them back for a replacement but i dont want the same to happen again? i'm hoping they are faulty which i think they are. its just i hope i havent been thick here. lol

Ahhh yes I'm sensing Lex-arse lights Amanda? I've heard they dont fit very well at all and needed "modifying" to get them to. todge2k had this problem I think.

no hey are the led ones, and i rang them up and they said i was to send them back for inspection cos they have never had this problem before. im not modifying anything, i paid enough for them to be right not faulty and in need of changing stuff when i get them, i will just do without. shame cos they looked ace

Ahhhh at least they arent the Lex-arse ones *shudder*

I'll have to ask someone who has the LEDs ones whether they had any problems fitting them.

Ok my friend just called me back and he says they do need "fiddling" to get them to fit. He says the problem with any aftermarket light (lexus ones, LED's etc) is they never fit 100%.

Hold the light as if its on the car. At the top of the light you've got the squared off edge that sits nearest the glass of the boot and the rounded edge on the left. Flip the light round and look at it from the back. He says you have to take a bit of sandpaper to the rounded edge (I think there's a lip or edge there?). The more you sand paper it, the further back it will sit and eventually it should sit flush and the boot shouldnt hit it. He also says to make sure the prongs on the back that go in the holes are pushed in properly (I hope that last bit makes sense!)

He said you can send them back to ESP but they've come from the same mould as all the other lights and they probably wont see anything wrong with it and send it right back.

Up to you Amanda!

i just dont want to damage it and then they wont accept it back will they. i think i'll just send it back. the clear casing on the front of the light isnt attached to the rest of the light squarly (if you know what i mean) thats why the boot wont shut on one side. and they are about 3/4 of a cm from the side of the car also. thats going to take some work to get them flush. but i think i will just send them back i think cso i dont want to fook them up and then they wont accept them back! i had some aftermarket light on my old car and they didnt need any work at all they fitted perfectly. im so disapointed!

Yeh sounds like the best thing to do perhaps. I wouldnt want to fiddle with something unless they come back and say they arent faulty, then its a choice of having a go or giving up on them.
