I've been meaning to give the Shogun Sport a polish ever since I owned it. The trouble was it's been broken for so long and away from the house I've not been able to.

It's now mechanically fixed and fully MOT'd. The only thing it needs is a new heater matrix, which will be done sometime shortly.

The paintwork feels like wet and dry fine grit paper currently. It is also difficult to wash due to the dirt sticking to it. I gave the car a wash and then yesterday evening when the temperature dipped and sun started on it's way down i decided to have a shot at giving the Bonnet a go.

It's a big old area to cover just by itself!

How it looked before I started:

I used G3 scratch remover to dig into the top later and try and smooth the paint out a little.

After 2 coats of the G3 I then used Meguires Stage 2 Polish.

Followed by a coat of Meguiars Carnauba Gold Wax

Here are the finished results... not too bad! The finish feels nice and smooth now and I'm looking forwards to seeing it bead!

Just got the rest of the car to do now. I shall do some before and after shots of that too. I honestly believe it's never been polished before.

It's had MOT since Jan. Just haven't bothered taxing it, mainly due to the heater matrix which I was waiting for better weather to tackle.

More pics to come when I have a few hours to get around it and smarten it up.

Just the rest of the beast to get done now! think I'll have to get it done in stages due to the surface area and time it takes to do it. If the weathers decent Sat I'll get more done happy

It polished up well!
From the 3rd and 4th pics, it looks like you used a machine. Was it easy to use?

Just used a cheap electric random action buffer I got from Halfords. It goes the job nicely. I'd love a professional one to correct paint but for the purpose this does its job great. The results speak for themselves happy
